Murder mystery lovers must pay attention! If you've been anticipating the first trailer of BBC's upcoming Towards Zero TV series, it's finally here. Adapted from Agatha Christie's 1944 novel, the story is set in the 1930s, and the events take place on the south coast of England.

Unlike traditional murder mysteries, Toward Zero centers around a high-profile love triangle that leads to murder at an aristocratic estate. According to Agatha Christie's acclaimed book, former British tennis player Nevile Strange is one of the main characters who spends the summer at Gull’s Point—his wealthy aunt Lady Tressilian’s home.

What's unusual about the story is that Strange enjoys the summer with both his ex-wife, Audrey, and his new wife, Kay. As revealed in the Towards Zero trailer, this unsettling arrangement ignites "insult, injury, grievance", and most importantly, jealousy.

Academy Award winning actress Anjelica Huston takes on the role of Nevile's aunt, who after learning about the love triangle says, "You will not make a mockery of marriage under my roof." However, her nephew suggests that Lady Tressilian should leave behind the past and focus on what's happening.

It's been a while since the BBC released a miniseries based on one of the most popular novels. As mentioned above, BritBox has finally released the first glimpses into Toward Zero, a three-episode miniseries scheduled to premiere tomorrow, March 2, 2025, on BBC One at 9 pm.

The synopsis of Towards Zero reads:

"British tennis star Nevile Strange and his ex-wife Audrey make the unthinkable decision to spend a summer together at Gull’s Point, their childhood home and the coastal estate of Nevile's aunt, Lady Tressilian."

However, viewers with a BBC iPlayer subscription can watch all three episodes early at 6 am. Whereas for BBC One, each episode will be released on Sundays till March 16, 2025. So don't forget to dive into Towards Zero, packed with a range of characters having their own motives and secrets.

While the miniseries will extensively focus on the love triangle between Nevile Strange and the two women, it's incomplete without the Lady and her companion. He not only serves as the family lawyer but is also a distinct cousin, conman, and orphan.

As suspicion occurs, a murder takes place and forces a detective to uncover deeply hidden truths and layers of deception. As the narrator in the Towards Zero trailer says, "Someone somewhere, unbeknownst to us, is laying a trap". We also see clashes taking place, a dead body being found, and Nevile's new wife possibly willing to see her husband and his ex dead.

Excitement is at its peak as Towards Zero will hit our screens in just a few hours, and fans might expect it the way or even better than how executive producer James Prichard highlighted. Hinting themes like love, jealousy, and family conflicts in a 1930s setting, Prichard said:

"Towards Zero is a great story... It has a very modern feel with contemporary themes of love and jealousy and family relationships, all in a fantastic setting."

Adding to Prichard's excitement, executive producer Damien Timmer said:

"This incendiary love triangle – there’s something so gloriously wicked about Nevile, Audrey and Kay going to a country house weekend for this polite holiday and, of course, you know that it is going to end in murder."

Damien explained that the central love triangle between Nevile, Audrey, and Kay is the key driver of tensions and conflicts. Thanks to Agatha Christie for crafting a story that's still lauded by many.
