4) Grant Linkletter (Ed Begley Jr.)

Dr. Grant Linkletter was first introduced in Season 2. Just like Dr. Sturgis, Linletter also played an important role in Sheldon’s early life but was a little cold, aloof but an unintentionally funny character. Although his interest in Sheldon stemmed initially from his likeness to Meemaw but he still helped Sheldon on many occasions.
For instance, when Sheldon called from Germany and complained about dealing with people who are smarter than him, he advised him to just listen and not talk, which confused Sheldon but was important advise. Linkletter also attended George Sr.’s funeral and also gifted Sheldon an IBM Thinkpad Laptop with Dr. Sturgis as a graduation gift.
Despite being someone important in his childhood, Linletter does not appear in The Big Bang Theory.
3) Amanda McAllister (Emily Osment)

2) Sam (Taylor Spreitler)

Sam was a student at East Texas Tech and was assigned with Sheldon on a group assignment by Dr. John Sturgis.
After being invited by Mary to their house, she gets frustrated and shares with Mary how there are only a few women in the scientific field and that the ones who are there are not taken seriously. She also points out how women like Mary, who provide for all the needs of others, harm the image of women further as then people like Sheldon begin looking down on women.
Mary tells her that she understands Sam’s need to be appreciated as she wants that too and that Sheldon does not look down particularly on women but everyone.
Despite being a strong character who could have become a part of The Big Bang Theory, Sam never appears in the show.
