1) Doctor Octopus
This villain with the dreaded mechanical arms is quite competent in terms of ravaging all those who stand against it. After a science experiment that went wrong and ended up killing his wife, Doctor Octopus was left with a gigantic metallic arms monster that did his bidding when called upon, to unleash destruction upon the city. Doctor Octopus has always been one of the arch rivals of Spider-Man and the web-slinging superhero had to fight this villain ever since the publication of the first series of comics.
There was this one time during which the Marvel villain Doctor Octopus featured on the Sinister Six, gathering a motley crue of the top villains from the world of Spider-Man. He even briefly replaced Spider-Man as a superior version of the web-slinger, before once again resuming his nefarious activities.
2) The Dark Phoenix
Jean Grey, also known as the Dark Phoenix, is an integral part of the Marvel world of X-Men. Once, after the cosmic entity entered her soul, Jean amassed immense powers and started wielding them on the Dark Phoenix Saga. Although Jean's character didn't initially start out as a villain back when it was first published in 1963, she was shown to be susceptible to the widespread corruption that was prevalent on the Phoenix Force at that time.
Dark Phoenix echoes many of the powers possessed by the Phoenix Force, including the power of omnipotence which thus, makes it a strong match for any other character in the MCU. Dark Phoenix is, however, devoid of Jean Grey's emotional bindings and therefore is capable of remorseless action.
3) Dormammu
Known as the Dread Dormammu, he was introduced as one of the greatest villains that Doctor Strange ever had to face. Although he belongs to the Dark Dimension, the purview of his powers stretches way beyond and it's effects can be felt far and wide in the MCU. The reason that makes Dormammu such a staunch and powerful villain is the fact that he's one of the Faltines and consequently has been forged with pure energey that knows no bounds.
He is bound by the boundaries of his own dimension but can gather up hosts on Earth through which he can exercise his powers on the planet. After bringing up Parker Robbins as The Hood, Dormammu has repeatedly tried to further his influence in the world of Marvel.
4) Red Skull
Red Skull is an incorrigible Nazi and the one responsible for bringing Project Hydra into existence. He is the strongest enemy of Marvel's Captain America, and has been battling with him for several decades. Whenever he's not facing off the Captain in direct combat, he's either plotting or organizing sinister events behind the scenes with the help of the AXIS and the Acts of Vengeance. It might be argued that the Red Skull is dead afterall, but he knows too well to function through hosts and others of the same ilk.
5) Green Goblin
Apart from Doctor Octopus, the Green Goblin has come to be associated as the other formidable foe that has fought against Spider-Man for all of these years, right from the inception of the character. The Green Goblin is responsible for quite a few heinous crimes that have affected the web-slinger, including the murder of Gwen Stacy. The Green Goblin was also responsible for spearheading the Clone Saga and following the events of Secret Invasions and Civil War was responsible for furthermore damage in the world of Marvel.
Apart from being among the top villains on the MCU, Norman Osborn's Green Goblin has also donned the heroic cap at times, with the costumed iteration of Gold Goblin momentarily coming out as a heroic character. He had also been on the director's chair at the Thunderbolts and after his slaying of the Skrull Queen, worked as the director of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Vincent D'Onofrio speaks about his character Wilson Fisk
The Wilson Fisk actor recently spoke in an exclusive interview with Los Angeles Times during the course of which he shared his insights about his character on the Disney+ show:
"Fisk is on a journey, he wants to expand his reach. … He’s going to get more control, and it’s going to be dangerous. It’s not going to be good for anybody. There’s no stopping this guy. He’s a broken man with a lot of power; he’s not gonna stop."
The Marvel star was also asked about his experience of being reunited with Charlie Cox during the famous diner scene:
"We were well prepared for that scene because we were involved in the writing of it with (showrunner) Dario (Scardapane). Charlie and I, we work together on a lot of our notes — just overall notes for every episode kind of thing — and then we narrow in on our own parts. But mostly we collaborate on story, and then we take it to them together, to the writer and to everybody else. So we went into that scene with a big dialogue with Justin (Benson) and Aaron (Moorhead), the two directors, and Dario, and kind of just worked it out for a few hours and changed a bit of it here and there. We liked the levity in it. The fact that these two could have a weird laugh together and almost seem like friends, but there’s this underlying feeling that they’re not friends at all."
