South Park’s first-ever Thanksgiving episode titled Starvin Marvin was released on November 19.

In this episode, Stan, Kenny, Kyle, and Cartman send money to an African charity in the hope of getting a free digital sports watch. The charity promised to help feed hungry children. Instead of the watch, the boys get an Ethiopian child whom they name 'Starvin Marvin.'

The episode also features events like Cartman accidentally landing in Ethiopia and discovering that activist Sally Struthers is hoarding all the food. In a subplot, Chef organizes the locals to fight genetically modified turkeys that attack them. The episode serves as a satire on famine, international aid, and the Western world's view of poverty in Africa.
