If you loved The Big Bang Theory, you are in for a treat. The popular CBS series debuted on September 24, 2007, and ran for twelve successful seasons. Even though fans craved more seasons, the show concluded on May 16, 2019.

The show's unique portrayal of intellectual misfits from Pasadena, California, as they navigate their lives through love, science, and comedy makes it iconic to this day. Produced by Warner Bros Television and created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, the American sitcom won several awards, including Golden Globes, Primetime Emmy, and TCA. The star-studded cast included Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, and Mayim Bialik.

One can also watch the spin-off, a prequel series of The Big Bang Theory called Young Sheldon, for a better insight into the life of a young Sheldon Cooper. You can also watch Young Sheldon's spin-off Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage. A must-watch spin-off prequel to The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon takes us to the early days of prodigy Sheldon Cooper, exploring his childhood in Texas. Created by the OG Chuck Lorre and Syeve Molaro, the show arrived on September 25, 2017. The finale aired on February 15, 2024, and the show concluded after a seven-season run. The show acts as a nostalgia for the TBBT fans as they understand Sheldon's origin and upbringing.

The series' cast includes Iain Armitage as a young Sheldon Cooper, Zoe Perry as Sheldon's mother, Mary, and Lance Barber as his father, George Sr. Cooper. 2) Brooklyn Nine-Nine

If you love the chemistry between the characters of The Big Bang Theory, Brooklyn Nine-Nine will give you a similar vibe. The American police procedural show first aired on September 17, 2013, and ran for eight successful seasons.

The plot of the show revolves around a bunch of detectives in the New York City Police Department (NYPD) who function under Captain Raymond Holt (Andre Braugher). Among Holt's squad is Detective Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg), who solves cases in his unique, carefree, and relaxed way with his reliable best friend Charles Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio). Meanwhile, Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumero) is a no-nonsense detective, while Rosa Diaz's (Stephanie Beatriz) antics seem quite mysterious.

Clubbed in are a family-loving Sergeant Terry Jeffords (Terry Crews) and two old detectives, Michael Hitchcock and Norm Scully, who, even though they are incompetent, bring quite a laugh to the 99th precinct. Meanwhile, Gina Linetti (Chelsea Peretti), "the human form of the 100 emoji" and the civilian administrator, is well known for her sarcastic comebacks. 3) Silicon Valley

If you enjoy the nerdy humor in The Big Bang Theory, Silicon Valley is the right choice for you. This popular American comedy series first aired on HBO on April 6, 2014, and ended on December 8, 2019, after six seasons. Richard Hendricks (Thomas Middleditch), an introverted software engineer, develops an app called Pied Piper, but he fails to get funding for his app, so he builds a start-up of his own. The story is mainly based on the ups and downs of his newly formed start-up and the dangers that the giant tech companies pose for such start-ups.

The cast consists of Thomas Middleditch, T.J. Miller, Amanda Crew, Josh Brener, Kumail Nanjiani, Zach Woods, and Martin Starr, to name a few.


4) Stranger Things

If you love science fiction and live for the 80s nostalgia, Stranger Things is the perfect fit. The show's geeky references, supernatural mysteries, and introverted characters, such as Eleven and Dustin, make the show a must-watch. Created by Duffer Brothers, the show was first released on Netflix in 2016.

"In 1980s Indiana, a group of young friends witness supernatural forces and secret government exploits. As they search for answers, the children unravel a series of extraordinary mysteries."

Originally planned for four seasons, but the producers have teased a fifth season set to release in 2025. The cast of the supernatural series consists of Winona Ryder, Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour, and Finn Wolfhard, to name a few. You can watch the four seasons of Stranger Things on Netflix.


5) Freaks and Geeks

Freaks and Geeks is a classic American teen comedy-drama released in 1999 on NBC. However, due to some reason, the cult classic was canceled in 2000. The show is set in the 1980s, showcasing the story of misfits or, as they call themselves, "freaks" of William McKinley High School. Even though it does not delve deep into the geek culture as much as The Big Bang Theory, it shares a similar story of outcasts and how society behaves with them. The synopsis of the show reads,

"A high school mathlete starts hanging out with a group of burnouts while her younger brother navigates his freshman year."

The cast includes Linda Cardellini, John Francis Daley, Jason Segel, James Franco, and Martin Starr.
