Top 5 Colby moments on Yellowstone
1) Colby's phone call with Teeter
Season 5, episode 12 of Yellowstone, titled "Counting Coup," saw Teeter and Colby confess their love for each other over a phone call. During their long distance, Teeter and Colby get on a phone call to check in with each other.
With Colby in the ranch and Teeter working at the 6666, the latter asks the former about the time. Colby informs Teeter that Texas is one hour ahead. Trying to get her head around the time difference and distance between them, Teeter states her voice should take an hour to get to him.
Colby accidentally admits to loving Teeter. He tells her that he's going to let her think that one through and never tell anyone that he said it, as that's how much he loves her.
Surprised by Colby accidentally professing his love for her, Teeter asks him to repeat the last part of his sentence. As Colby tries to back out of what he said, Teeter teases him by saying that he loves her and he said it.
She goes on to ask about John Dutton and the ranch's future. In a few words, Colby advises Teeter to start working on whatever big plans she has for the future. Teeter lets Colby know that she has big plans and confesses her love for him too before hanging up.
2) Colby rescues Carter
Yellowstone season 5, episode 12 is the last time audiences get to see Colby as he dies while rescuing Carter. Despite being told not to go near the horses in the stable, Carter sees an empty water bucket that the black stallion has spilled and decides to refill it.
While Carter takes the empty bucket carefully and safely, he encounters a wild and erratic horse when trying to put the bucket back. As the horse corners Carter, Colby distracts the violent animal so Carter can escape.
Colby ends up being killed when the horse stomps on him. Even though Carter ends up gunning down the horse and alerting everyone about the situation, it is too late to save Colby.
3) Colby faces Wade Morrow
In the series, Colby faces Wade Morrow more than once. In the episode, "I Killed a Man Today," from season 3, Wade Morrow and Clint almost kill Teeter and Colby when they release a horse to trample them.
While Teeter and Colby go skinny-dipping, Wade Morrow unleashes his horse and brutally injures them. He does this to irritate John Dutton. After a lot of struggle, Teeter and Colby finally survive.
In episode 9 from season 3 of Yellowstone, Rip and the other ranchers, with the help of Colby, kill Wade Morrow and Clint to seek revenge for what they had done to Colby and Teeter. Clint is killed as he falls off a horse, and Wade is killed while being lynched on a tree.
