The popular sitcom The Big Bang Theory premiered in September 2007. Created by Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady, the show follows the lives of a nerd-centric group of friends who are brilliant but socially awkward in one sense or another.
The cast includes Jim Parson’s Sheldon Cooper and Johnny Galecki’s Leonard Hofstadter, who are both physicists, their friends- Simon Helberg’s Howard, an aerospace engineer; Kunal Nayyar’s Rajesh Koothrappali, a particle astrophysicist; and their new neighbor, Kaley Cuoco’s Penny.
Although all four men struggle with conversing with women, Nayyar’s Raj’s struggle is overwhelmingly intense as he couldn’t even talk in front of women in the early episodes of the show. However, there was one solution to his problem- alcohol. By consuming alcohol, Raj was able to talk to women and even flirt with women.
In this article, we list 10 pickup lines of Rajesh Koothrappali that are funny and sometimes cringy too.
10) “So, Missy, have you ever met a man from the exotic subcontinent of India?”

Raj has many awkward moments around women. But he was also the one who dated several women throughout the show.
In season 1, Sheldon introduces his friends to his twin sister, Missy. However, as he feels uncomfortable talking to her, Raj disappears. He comes back after a little while and announces to his friends that he has been selected as a test subject in research for getting rid of his pathological shyness. That’s when he finally greets and says hi to Missy.
Alongside Howard, he later utters this pickup line to introduce himself to her and also impress her.
9) “If you wonder who wrote the Book of Love, it was us.”

Howard and Raj get into a friendly competition as they keep throwing one pickup line after another at Missy.
Raj talks about the Kama Sutra to her and then utters these lines about the Book of Love.
It is one of the funniest pickup lines because, in the same episode, only a while ago, Raj couldn’t even greet her back, and later, he is seen using cheesy one-liners at Missy.
8) “Can’t believe a girl like you doesn’t have a boyfriend.”

In season 7, after Lucy breaks up with Raj, Penny fixes a date for him with a girl from the Cheesecake Factory.
Raj later goes on a coffee date with the girl and, to impress her, uses this common pickup line on her.
However, the conversation after this turns awkward as Raj reveals his desperation and agrees to be the other man in her life, which prompts the girl to blast on Penny for fixing the weird date.
7) “Would you like to hear more about it in my hot tub?”

In season 3 of The Big Bang Theory, Raj goes for an interview to join Mr. Laughlin’s stellar evolution research team. Mr. Laughlin asks him if he would like to have some sherry, but Raj declines the offer, saying it's a little too early to have Sherry.
Later, a woman named Dr. Millstone arrives, and Laughlin introduces her to Raj as the head of the data analysis team. While she is talking and praising Raj’s other works, he slowly drags himself to the table where all of Laughlin’s drinks are placed and pours himself a large sherry.
He later starts to confidently talk to Dr. Millstone and utters this cringy pick-up line, which stuns Laughlin and Dr. Millstone.
6) “If you post it on social media, I suggest the hashtag ‘Koothra-poet.’”

In season 11 of The Big Bang Theory, Raj meets a woman named Nell after his presentation in the planetarium. Nell asks if she can have a picture taken with him, to which Raj agrees.
While taking the picture, Raj says this cheesy yet humorous pickup line to Nell, making her laugh and his friends cringe.
5) “Only to beautiful women. And to okay women”

While talking to Nell, he tries to wow her with his talk about stars. She asks Raj if he tries these lines with everyone.
That’s when Nayyar’s Raj utters this line that these lines are only for women and also tells her that she is a different kind. Raj and Nell later have a brief relationship before she discloses something very important about herself.
4) “I’m a slumdog astrophysicist.”

In season 3 of The Big Bang Theory, Raj and Sheldon attend a university party to ‘score girls.’ At the party, he meets a woman named Abby and introduces himself. She asks him where he is from, and he tells her that he is from the mysterious land of India. She also happily reveals that she has seen Slumdog Millionaire.
That’s when Raj quips this line to show his witty side.
3) “It’s hot in here. Must be summer.”

In Season 2 of The Big Bang Theory, actress Summer Glau appears as a guest star and plays herself in the episode. The boys see her on a train to San Francisco and try to come up with the best pickup line to impress her.
While Howard practices his line, Raj walks past him and hears it. As he had already gotten rid of his selective mutism with alcohol, he uses this line of Howard on Summer and makes her laugh. She also tells him that it was cute.
2) “Fate has given me a rare second chance, and I swear to Vishnu, I’m not gonna blow it.”

In season 7, Raj reconnects with a woman named Emily, whom he met on a dating website. He apologizes to her for acting like a lunatic and blowing his chances. However, she gives him a second chance and asks him to sit with her.
Raj says this line in response to her giving him a second chance.
Raj’s relationship with Emily was one of his longest relationships in the show.
1) His Altair and Vega story

His romantic astronomical story is one of Raj's best pickup lines from the show. As an astrophysicist, Raj is often seen talking about stars. In season 7 of The Big Bang Theory, Raj tells the story of two of the brightest stars in the sky, Altair and Vega, that he will narrate to Emily on their date.
He talks about the forbidden love of the stars and how they come together only once a year, melting Penny's heart.
With the love story of the stars, Raj unexpectedly impresses Penny.
