In season 5, episode 4 of Modern Family, the episode begins with Cam’s annoying sister, Pameron or Pam, coming over to pay Cam and Mitch a visit. Cam already does not get along well with his sister and he is planning his wedding with Mitch at the time, so he is overly precautious. He feels that Pam might not take the news well as he thinks she is the most sensitive person in his family.

However, Cam turns out to be the most sensitive one and gets outraged upon learning that Pam has a surprise of her own. She is engaged to the boy on whom Cam had a crush when he was younger. He has an emotional outburst and everyone has to finally tell him that it is him who is overly sentimental and therefore they are afraid of saying anything to him. Lily comes in with a sassy comment, as is expected of her, and remarks the following quote in a flat manner, which makes it all the more deadly and hilarious.

9. “Daddy’s just having a moment, He’s always having a moment.”

In season 6, episode 23, Cam and Mitch begin to develop a fear that Lily might be growing up to be an apathetic girl, one who is devoid of normal emotions. Viewers know that Lily has a no-nonsense attitude and she rarely has any outbursts, instead, she has a smart mouth on her, which shoots scathing remarks. Looking at all this, her fathers are worried that she might be averse to more healthy emotions.

Cam as always, is hyper, and having an outburst, and Mitch is calm but tense. The scene gets funny when Lily calmly comes back from school and finds Cam sobbing and in hysterics. Unfazed by her father’s usual reactions, she remarks on how her father is always like this. Lily delivers the line in such a nonchalant manner, that it is hilarious to witness and is characteristically Lily.

8. “Belle’s a princess. She faced the Beast. She stood up to the townspeople. What have you done?”

In season 5, episode 17 of Modern Family, Cam, and Mitch’s wedding preparations are going on in full swing and everyone is happy. Amidst all the chaotic frenzy, it is Gloria and Claire’s job to take Lily out shopping and find her the perfect dress that she would wear as the flower girl of her parents’ ceremony. The three have a wonderful time and Lily sets her sights on a yellow gown, which is reminiscent of the one Belle wore in the movie, Beauty and the Beast.

While Gloria is happy to buy whatever Lily wants, Claire protests and does not want her to wear a costume to the wedding. The three go back and forth in an argument of sorts and finally, Lily drops this iconic remark, which leaves Claire dumb-founded and speechless. The viewers know that protesting against Lily is never a good idea and the little girl proves that she is full of sass and wit.

In season 4, episode 16, Cam is busy staging one of his over-the-top photoshoots, which he loves to set up, and uses Lily as his model. Cam loves all things dramatic, and he makes sure that Lily is dressed in the most iconic ways possible. This time, he dresses her up as one of the most famous women in entertainment. While as a baby, Lily was unaware and went along with her father’s shenanigans, now that she is grown up, she just wants the whole thing to end soon.

During the photoshoot, Mitch shows up at home and is amused at Cam’s dedication and Lily’s less-than-enthusiastic demeanor. As Mitch shows up, Lily is quick to say that she is done for the day and says these iconic lines, which sound so mature for a little girl to say, and which makes it all the more hilarious. Cam is happy because this is the attitude that he wanted to capture but Lily is adamant about taking a break.

In season 4, episode 13 of Modern Family, Lily is brazenly using her sassy wit and giving cold replies over everything. At one point, she even comments on her father’s over-the-top emotions. Cam and Mitch are confused and scared about why Lily is acting so snarky and when the little girl keeps saying the word “wahmbulance”, the two have to find out the reason behind her mean spirit.

As it turns out, little Lily had stayed over for some time at Mitch’s sister, Claire’s house and the sass and snark of Claire had rubbed off on Lily, who was clearly enjoying her new use of words. Hilariously, Claire taught Lily some mean comments that she herself makes about Cam and Mitch and Lily was glad to learn all that. The scene gets funnier when Lily shows no concern over her parents’ emotional reactions and instead, gives this iconic line, which is amusing and hilarious.

5. “Not me, you two!”

But Lily immediately stops them and says that it is embarrassing.

Cam and Mitch assume Lily is embarrassed about her dancing and try to reassure her. But, true to her nature, Lily quickly clarifies that she’s actually embarrassed by them. The scene gets funnier as Cam and Mitch break out for a dance in front of Lily and are unable to control themselves from dancing, leaving poor Lily embarrassed.

The two are nervous about how they should ask him to leave and not get his feelings hurt but Lily has it all handled.

The little girl has had enough of his shenanigans, and since she never minces words, she doesn’t care if she offends Dylan. Before Mitch or Cam can handle things their way, Lily is already yelling at the poor guy to pack up his things and delivers the iconic lines, which make Lily a true star. Cam and Mitch are impressed by how effective their daughter is, even if she is a bit rude.

When Lily sees this, she is quick to come over and ask her cousin if she is a nerd.

When Alex gets offended and replies that no she is not, Lily says that she looks like one because she is working on a Friday. Alex tries to inspire Lily by saying that she will have many fun Friday nights in the future and right now she needs to work on her studies. To this, Lily is quick to quip that she does not hear any boyfriends in the mix, which leaves Alex amused.

2. “To my brilliant daughter”. “So, not you.”

In season 6, episode 19 of Modern Family, the whole family is happy as the most academically gifted member of their family, Alex, has got into her dream school, Caltech. Claire decides to give a heartfelt speech and begins the toast by saying “To my brilliant daughter.”

Now, most of Lily’s jabs are towards her fathers. But in this instance, she is quick to quip and makes a joke at Haley’s expense, when she says to her, “So, not you”. The joke also plays on another running joke in the show that Haley is dumb. Lily’s ability to use that occasion to deliver this punchline is hilarious and the way she says it with such a straight face is what makes it double hilarious.

1. “Did you know I’m gay?”

In season 4, episode 19, Lily is growing up and she has questions about her femininity, which is awkward for Mitch and Cam to address. The two fathers love their daughter a lot and decide to invite Gloria to spend more time with her and answer all her lady questions. Gloria is more than happy to do so as she always wanted a daughter. The episode begins on a happy note as Gloria and Lily decide to head out for a girls’ day out together.

However, even before Gloria can take the car out of the driveway, Lily hits her unexpectedly with this line, which makes Gloria worried and she shares it with Cam and Mitch. The fathers are nervous about how to broach this topic with their daughter but it all comes to a hilarious end as Lily reveals that she thinks she is gay because her dads are gay. Her little confusion over ethnicity and sexuality is funny and heartwarming and she instead learns about her home country, Vietnam.

Lily's sharp wit and deadpan delivery make her one of the most entertaining characters in Modern Family. Her hilarious comebacks, often delivered with perfect timing, add to the show's charm and keep audiences laughing. Whether calling out her dads or roasting her family, Lily proves that sass truly runs in the Tucker-Pritchett household!
