"Today, I can't": Love is Blind star Sara decides not to get married to Ben

Netflix's Love is Blind Season 8 aired its finale on March 7, 2025. The latest episode featured wedding ceremonies of engaged couples. One of them was Sara and Ben. Both of their friends and family members attended the much-awaited ceremony.

When the wedding officiant asked the ultimate question, to know if the love is blind, Sara responded:

"Ben...I love you so much but I've always wanted a partner to be on the same...wavelength. And so today, I can't. I'm sorry, but I don't want that to be misunderstood. I still love you, and everything about you is amazing. And I care about you so much."

Love is Blind Season 8 Finale: Sara refuses to get married to Ben

Love is Blind Season 8 Finale featured Sara, 28 and Ben, 27's wedding ceremony. The latest episode started with the wedding rituals, where the officiant asked Sara, the oncology nurse:

"Sara, will you embrace Ben to be your husband as your companion and best friend for life? If yes, say, "I will." "

In response, she stated that despite her feelings and love for Ben, she couldn't get married to him on "that day." The female cast member wanted a partner on the "same wavelength" as hers. After sharing how she felt, Sara said she didn't want any misunderstandings.

She mentioned that she "still" loved Ben, and everything about him was amazing. Seeing her refusing to say "I do," Ben told her:

"I care about you too. And I love you so much. I know I wanna stay with you and keep growing our relationship if you'll let me."

Listening to him, Sara told him that they would see what happens. She mentioned that she and Ben would have a "talk" about that. While still there, Love is Blind star Sara added that she knew that their connection was "so real." She also talked about how her "heart" was there.

However, she mentioned that when they discussed "a lot of values" that she held "close to her heart":

"Making this decision, my mind is telling me I can't," she stated.

Listening to Sara revealing her decision, her family members, friends, and guests were surprised. Among the guests were Love is Blind Season 8's pod squad, Lauren and Molly.

Further in the episode, Sara's mother and sister checked in on her, as they were worried. When her sister, Lisa, stated that it would be okay if Sara was not okay. She replied that she was "just sad."

Sara then confessed to the cameras about how she thought about "going up to the altar throughout the day"

"He's everything, pretty much, that I've wanted. Still today, I could see myself saying yes."

Later, while sitting in the car with her mother and sister, Sara mentioned feeling "numb." She also noted that she hoped she made the "right decision."
