Shark Tank mentor Robert Herjavec shared a video via his YouTube on October 20, 2024, sharing his learnings from fellow Shark, Mark Cuban. The video titled 10 Things I Learned from Mark Cuban That Changed My Life! featured tech entrepreneur Robert Herjavec recalling his struggles.

Robert opened up about the days when he used to sleep for 3 to 4 hours and how his friends wished to be more like him. While opening up about the subject, the Shark Tank investor shared:

"When I started out, I used to sleep 3-4 hours a day and my friends used to say to me, 'Oh my gosh! I wish I was born like you where I don't need much sleep. I wish I was like you that I never got tired.' Are you freaking kidding me? I was tired all the time. But guess what, I learned a long time ago - I would much rather be tired than poor. Time is your greatest commodity whether you're a billionaire or you're starting out."

Shark Tank mentor Robert Herjavec recalled his learnings from billionaire businessman Mark Cuban

In his video titled 10 Things I Learned from Mark Cuban That Changed My Life! Robert shared 10 lessons, of which the 7th one was:

"Time is more important than money."

Robert mentioned one of Mark's "great sayings," which goes:

"Today is the youngest you're ever going to be. So start now."

Along with that, Robert also recalled another thing that his friend Cody Sanchez often mentions:

"You're young. You're broke. You've no experience. You don't know what you're doing. But every old billionaire in the world will trade his place for your time."

Agreeing to these powerful sayings, Shark Tank mentor stated that time was the only "commodity" that we can not get back. Hence, he shared that in everything people do, they should think about it. He referred to time as a "great equalizer."

Further he mentioned how everyone gets "the same 24 hours" daily. Whether it is someone who is a billionaire or a blue-collar worker, Robert mentioned that since waking up in the morning, everyone has the same 24 hours.

"The question is, what are you going to do in those 24 hours, and here's the reality. The farther down you are on the totem pole of privilege or opportunity, the harder you have to work. It's not fair. It's not equitable, but you just got to work harder."

Shark Tank fans who follow Robert must be aware of the struggles he has been through, which he often mentions via his insights sharing.

Emphasizing more on how one can plan a day, and how its effects can be long-lasting, Robert shared his example. He mentioned that he could tell where he would be next month or year because of his planning. Further in the video, he shared why he bought a plane and how he uses it for his important business meetings all across the globe.
