While Aaron Korsh's legal drama Suits' Pilot is still regarded as one of the best in the history of TV shows, the same cannot be said about its spin-off series, Suits LA, which premiered on NBC on February 23.

Harvey and Mike Ross' first meeting is still the best and has high re-watch value, but it looks like the fans did not like the new spin-off's Pilot.

While Suits LA took a different approach with their protagonists Ted Black and Stuart Lane, who are not headed for an epic bromance like their predecessors, fans thought the pilot was very fast-paced and lacked chemistry.

Here is what Reddit fans think about the Suits LA Pilot.

Fans disappointed by Suits LA Pilot's fast-pacing

Suits LA makers were eager to introduce many storylines, which led to a very fast-paced Episode 1. Many Reddit fans felt that the Pilot threw too many characters and plot points, which made it difficult to follow. As one Reddit user, u/OLKv3, pointed out:

''They threw way too much info at us in the first episode. The material in this pilot could've been an entire season plot.''

The USP of Suits was Harvey and Mike's dynamic, and the Pilot only focused on how they met and struck a relationship. While the spin-off series is understandably headed in a different direction, Reddit users like u/RealMatt8, felt that the pilot introduced too many characters:

''I feel like the pacing was too fast. We were introduced to at least a dozen characters without any reason to care about them, whereas the original had a slower start, focusing on just two characters before gradually expanding in later seasons.''

Another factor that made the original show stand out was its humorous moments and witty banter between the characters. But with so many characters and storylines introduced in the Pilot, users like u/Affectionate-Gear447, thought that the show over-delivered and lacked a light note as its predecessor:

''...there was too much thrown out to keep straight in my mind! Maybe I just need a little light comedy thread, like in Suits. There was nothing funny, nothing sharp or witty or racy(?)''

While many fans complained about the pacing, they are still open to trying more episodes, especially because Gabriel Macht's Harvey Specter is set to reprise his role in a three-episode arch, as the above user continued:

''I'll watch it again, as I'm still waiting for Harvey Specter episodes. But I'm disappointed''
''...Will be excited to see Harvey's arc'' another user, u/Aobix_, noted

While it seems like Suits LA Pilot did not strike a chord with the audience, fans are still sticking with the show because of the original's legacy. It would be interesting to see whether the show will be able to deliver and what would Macht's entry do for the show.

What happened in the Suits LA Pilot?

Suits LA Pilot wasted no time in dumping a dozen problems on its protagonist, Ted Black, who faces a dual betrayal. First at the hands of his partner and long-time friend Stuart, and later by his mentee, Rick.

Black Lane firm was working on a big merger, but Stuart double crosses Ted and leaves him out of the merger and also poaches his biggest clients.

After Ted makes Erica co-head of Entertainment with Rick, he also betrays Ted and shifts to Staurt's new firm. Ted then makes Erica his new partner.

We also learn that Ted is not on the best terms with his father, who is on his deathbed, and he blames him for breaking their family apart and for the death of his brother, Eddie.
