This over-the-top HIMYM scene all but proves Barney's pick-up rizz would never work in real life 

Barney Stinson was one of the most beloved characters of How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM). His character is charming and comic at the same time, and impressing girls comes smooth to him. However, the public opinion says such a rizz would never work in real life, as Stinson's traits are exaggerations meant to serve comedic purpose on the show.

In one of the scenes at a restaurant, Barney acts panicky in front of a girl, following which the staff call the paramedics. He only reveals later in a smooth monologue that he felt she would have to be injured because she "fell straight out of heaven."

Then, he explains that the girl has had a terrible fall and must be injured seriously.

The paramedics arrive and starts checking the girl when Barney throws his cheesy line:

"Really.. cause I could swear you fell straight out of heaven, ... angel."

The paramedics and the entire staff, as well as the customers, cheer for him and demand that the girl give him her number in HIMYM, while she blushes and smiles.
