The third episode of Andor Season 2, "Harvest", featured several heartbreaking moments in its 52-minute runtime. One of these moments was the death of a character we met all the way back in the first episode of Andor Season 1. The death occurs in the last act of this episode, proving that being a hero will not keep these characters safe.
The death in "Harvest" is that of Cassian Andor's friend Brasso, played by British actor Joplin Sibtain. Brasso is someone we meet in the first episode of Andor Season 1, where he was ready to lie to the authorities to save Cassian when the latter killed two corrupt officers. His death in Andor Season 2 raises the stakes for the main characters higher than ever.
But this death may also hint that Brasso's death is just the beginning of even more heartbreaking deaths in the upcoming episodes of Andor Season 2.
Cassian may lose Bix Caleen and Wilmon Paak in Andor Season 2:
As the title of the first episode of Andor Season 2, "One Year Later", suggests, it has been a year since the Andor Season 1 finale. Cassian, Bix, Brasso, and Wilmon are lying low on an agrarian planet called Mina-Rau. Cassian is not on Mina-Rau in the first two episodes, as he is on a mission to steal a new experimental TIE Avenger ship, which he successfully does.
Meanwhile, Brasso, Wil, and Bix are hiding in Mina-Rau with a local man named Kellen and his family. However, this safety is short-lived as imperial officers arrive for an inspection. The imperial officers are already aware that Bix, Brasso, and Wilmon are not there legally. When all hope seems lost, Cassian, who was also held hostage during the first two episodes of Andor Season 2, manages to reach Mina-Rau on the stolen TIE ship.
He manages to take Bix and Wilmon, but they lose Brasso because he is killed by the officers. Two of Cassian's friends are alive for now, but we don’t know how long they’ll survive, as we never heard their names in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The lack of hints about these two characters might suggest that they may lose their lives before the finale of Andor Season 2.
However, it should be noted that this is just speculation and that these two characters might have survived off-screen. But given the nature of the series, it seems highly unlikely.
What is Andor Season 2 about?
Season 2, which is also Andor's final season, is set four years before Cassian's eventual death in Rogue One. The season is slowly building toward the events of Rogue One, and the next batch of three episodes (4, 5, and 6) will take place three years before the 2016 movie.
"Andor Season 2 will see the characters and their relationships intensify as the horizon of war draws near and Cassian becomes a key player in the Rebel Alliance. Everyone will be tested and, as the stakes rise, the betrayals, sacrifices and conflicting agendas will become profound."
