Shark Tank investor Kevin O'Leary shared a video clip via his Instagram on March 17, 2025, featuring himself alongside Lara Trump from Fox News. The two met at New York's Bitcoin bar and discussed the future of Bitcoin while sharing their thoughts and insights about cryptocurrencies.

According to the Shark Tank mentor, since all the "crypto cowboys" are now in jail after running out of business, we all are in a "new phase." Referring to the Trump government, Kevin O'Leary stated:

"All the crypto cowboys are in jail or out of business. So now we're in a new phase, there's a new tone at the government that Trump has put forward. They're going to provide regulations to allow this to become integrated the financial institutions of America."

He added:

"It's going to become a payment system and an investment vehicle. It's going to become part of all of the sectors of our economy. We have 11 sectors. Eventually, I believe crypto will be the 12th. Think about it as digital gold, that's the way I look at it."

During his discussion with Lara Trump at the New York Bitcoin Bar, Kevin O'Leary spoke about how cryptocurrencies have performed over the years. As Lara asked him about the "concept" of cryptocurrency and how people are interested but not yet "comfortable" with it, she asked him about them becoming mainstream.

In response, Shark Tank's mentor stated that individuals are not "comfortable" with cryptocurrencies because they have witnessed the "cowboy era" of crypto. He also talked about how "crypto cowboys" have been sent to the jails or are out of their businesses.

Kevin O'Leary stated that a new phase has begun with the Trump government, and they will be providing regulations. He talked about crypto integration with American financial institutions.

According to him, cryptocurrencies will become a new "payment" system and an "investment vehicle." Shark Tank judge stated that it would become the 12th sector in our economy. Lara then asked about the individuals who might still be a "little mystified" and requested him to share his message with them.

"Start small, you know, buy a third of a Bitcoin, treat it as an investment long term, it's a new asset form, think about it as digital gold, that's the way I look at it. You know, a great thing about digital is that you can put it on your phone. You can actually see it every day, watch the price go up and down," stated Kevin O'Leary.

He added that by doing such, learning in "small increments" would eventually mean not risking "too much" and yet understanding the technology.

"And so at the end of the day, it's learning in small increments and not risking too much and getting to understand the technology. But the big news is that this will be the first administration that's going to say, this sector belongs in America. The development should be here. The technology should be mastered here," he added.

Shark Tank's mentor stated that we should "lead" the world into it, as the administration didn't do. He thought that everyone should celebrate it because they will not "fall behind" on the same.
