"Yeah, this really works as its own story and it's great So, there's always that possibility because there are some more books with it.."

The actor explained that even though season 1 has a complete story, there is always a chance to tell more through other books. However, an official announcement about the hit series' renewal is pending.

The first five episodes are out, each being incredibly fun and suspicious as Andrew keeps finding hidden secrets about the characters since discovering a severed arm.

It has been revealed that Nick, who was presumed dead, was pretending to be Christopher, and Eve significantly contributed to initiating the insurance fraud. Yancy knows Nick and Eve are the two most notorious and dishonest people around him.

Episode five ends with Yancy telling Eve he's still alive, further complicating the situation. Additionally, Eve threatened Caitlin, hinting that she might face problems in the future.

Initially, fans didn't expect Eve to be one of the ruthless figures in the comedy-drama, but viewers could see more of Eve's dark side as the series progressed.

Will there be a Bad Monkey Season 2?

As mentioned, Vaughn stated that season one might not require another chapter since the story will be concluded in the ongoing chapter.

However, the series' makers and even Vaughn didn't confirm that Bad Monkey would end after the first season.

Additionally, the author Carl Hiaasen penned a sequel titled Razor Girl, and in a 2023 interview, producer Bill Lawrence said (via The Direct):

"He wrote a sequel to 'Bad Monkey' called 'Razor Girl' that we also have. I don’t want to get caught in the thing where you’re like, 'It’s okay that there’s no other book! We’ll do another year and it’ll be great!'."

As the novel's title suggests, Razor Girl follows the story of a girl named Merry Mansfield, who turns out to be a con artist. She is known for intentionally crashing her car into other people to kidnap them.

While Yancy is already working on a case, he discovers that his case and Razor Girl's kidnapping are connected. Yancy believes that he might get the investigator badge back if he solves this complicated case.

While the two books have different stories, Hiaasen ensured both are filled with wit and humor, engaging readers with Andrew Yancy's fun yet intense journey.
