Ted Lasso fans, gear up for big news! Juno Temple, who brings Keeley Jones to life in the show, has hinted there could be a Season 4 in the works. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, she mentioned that talks about a new season are happening, although she couldn't say for sure if and when it would happen.

Temple revealed:

“I’ve heard the kind of stunt version of, yeah, potentially, it sounds like there might be a Season 4."

When it comes to timing, she kept it mysterious:

“I don't know when. I don't know exactly who, what, why, where, but I think it sounds like those cogs are turning.”

Although the show's co-creator and star, Jason Sudeikis, had previously talked about the series wrapping up after three seasons, Temple's words have sparked excitement among fans.

But hold your horses, folks! When asked about a possibile spin-off just focused on her character, Keeley Jones, Temple had this to say:

“A Ted Lasso spin-off is a complicated idea for me because it so feels like a team, I wouldn't want to do it without everyone else. It’s a real team!”

However, she did show some love for the idea of Keeley and Rebecca starting a women's team for AFC Richmond, calling it:

“A great storyline.”

So, while we don't have a green light for a Keeley solo adventure, the hope for more Ted Lasso is definitely there, and it's keeping us all eager to see what happens next.

What could a Ted Lasso Season 4 look like?

With Season 3 coming to an end and tying up various storylines, viewers have been tossing around fun ideas about where the show might go next. On Reddit, fans have been sharing a few intriguing theories, such as:

Roy Kent possibly taking up a coaching role in the U.S., which could see him teaming up with Jamie Tartt to give the latter's career a fresh start, reminiscent of the path Ted Lasso embarked on.

Rebecca buying an MLS soccer team, which would be a big move that could potentially relocate Roy to America and mix things up culturally.

And let's not forget the idea of introducing an AFC Richmond women's football team, a plot twist that would look into the increasing importance of women's soccer, something Jason Sudeikis (who plays coach Ted Lasso) has mentioned as being “exciting.”

Could a Ted Lasso spin-off work?

While Temple and fellow actor Hannah Waddingham, who plays Rebecca, have indicated they might be hesitant, fans have been throwing around different concepts. Some think the magic of Ted Lasso comes from having all these characters together, and that splitting them up might mess with that special something the show has.

Others, however, have some cool ideas for spin-offs, like what if Roy Kent and Jamie Tartt ended up in the U.S. and have to deal with a whole new world? That could be pretty interesting to watch, especially with the way their personalities clash. Then there's the thought of Keeley starting her own PR business, which the show has already hinted at.

For now, no one knows what could happen next in Ted Lasso. It is a mystery waiting to be solved. What Temple has said, however, makes it seem like the story of the team isn't over yet.

Here is what Waddingham said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly in 2023:

“If there were more to come, I’d certainly entertain the idea.”
