The White Lotus Season 3 Episodes 1 & 2: Release date and time, what to expect and more

After two successful seasons, The White Lotus is all set to return with Season 3. The new season will drop its first episode on February 16, 2025, with a new epsiode releasing every week thereafter till April 6, 2025. HBO had announced the third season of the Mike White-helmed anthology series in November 2022.

Set in Hawaii, the first season of The White Lotus premiered in July 2021. It became an instant hit among the audience and also earned numerous accolades including Primetime Emmy Award. Following this, the second season which was set in Cicily, premiered in October 2022, and also earned praise and awards. The White Lotus Season 3 is set in Thailand with its first and second episodes set to premiere on February 16 and 23, respectively.

The filming of Season 3 began in February 2024 in Thailand and was wrapped up in August 2024. Talking to Entertainment Weekly, Mike White teased about what to expect in Season 3. He said:

" It's going to be longer, bigger, crazier. I don't know what people will think, I am super excited, so at least for my own barometer, that's a good thing... I'm super excited about the content of the season."

The creator of the series have said that The White Lotus Season 3 will have eight episodes, while Seasons 1 and 2 had six and seven episodes each.

Episode 1 of The White Lotus Season 3 is set to premiere on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at 9 p.m. ET/ 8 p.m. CT while Episode 2 can be viewed on the next Sunday, February 23, 2025, on the same time on HBO Max.

Speculations and more about The White Lotus Season 3

Just as the previous season, The White Lotus Season 3 will introduce us to a new story, with new characters including Leslie Bibb as Kate, with Carrie Coon as Laurie and Michelle Monaghan as Jaclyn. They portray three friends who have reunited for a vacation trip after a long time. The cast also includes Aimee Lou Wood, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Blackpink’s Lalisa Manobal, Walton Goggins, Sarah Catherine Hook, and Jason Isaacs.

Along with the new cast, Natasha Rothwell will reprise her role of Belinda Lindsay from Season 1 of The White Lotus. It is speculated that Rothwell will be the connecting thread between Seasons 1 and 3, just as Jennifer Coolidge was for Seasons 1 and 2.

Not much has been revealed about the plot of Season 3. However, Mike White did mention that the season would explore the themes of death, spirituality, and Eastern religion in a satirical way.
