As with any season of The White Lotus, this season also follows its signature style of a murder-thriller laced with dry humor and self-awareness. There are a couple of recurring characters, and much to the fans’ delight, HBO has already dropped a sneak-peek video for The White Lotus Season 3 Episode 4.

As told my creator Mark White himself to Entertainment Weekly,

“It’s going to be longer, bigger, crazier. I don’t know what people will think, but I am super excited, so at least for my own barometer, that’s a good thing … I’m super excited about the content of the season.”

Moreover, as each season of the show has a specific theme, this season is spirituality with a focus on Buddhism. White wanted to explore a different approach in this season, and that was the reason behind choosing Thailand as the location.

The third season also marks the return of Natasha Rothwell’s Bellinda, who was first seen in The White Lotus Season 1, where she was the wellness instructor at the Hawaiian resort. In this season, she’s in Thailand for a work trip, which is also partly a vacation, and it is her son who discovers the body in the water in the very first episode, another The White Lotus staple.

Talking about her return to the show, Rothwell mentioned,

“I think it was exciting to be able to show her on vacation. It’s not a full vacation, it’s a working vacation. But I think when you travel, it allows you to sort of explore a different version of yourself, and I think it was a cool way to introduce the world to a different side of Belinda.”

With the mystery now getting intense with each episode as the characters gradually show their true colors and feelings, it now remains to be seen how the finale of this season ends.
