The White Lotus Season 3: Are Belinda’s outfits giving clues for the finale?

It is not uncommon for shows to foreshadow a character's fate through their outfits. It might not catch one's eye initially, but Belinda's outfits in The White Lotus Season 3 could be leaving clues for us. An account about The White Lotus' fashion posted a picture of Belinda in a kaftan by the label Lily Pulitzer.

Are Belinda's outfits in The White Lotus Season 3 trying to tell us something?

Natasha Rothwell plays Belinda Lindsey, a spa professional on a wellness study program in Thailand in The White Lotus Season 3. In the first few episodes of the season, Belinda has been wearing flowy kaftans.

The Kallie Flowy Maxi Dress by Anthropologie

Belinda wore a floral, flowy dress when first seen in The White Lotus Season 3 in Thailand and the print of the dress is very on-theme, as it closely resembles elements of a forest. The flowy nature of her outfit sets the tone that she is there to relax and have a good time and she continues to wear kaftans and flowy dresses of similar prints in the show's first few episodes. We see her switch to an employee's uniform after her program and coincidentally when she is suspicious of Gary.

Cockatoo Silk Scarf Kaftan Dress by Jim Thompson

In episode 3, Beinda wears a silk scarf kaftan by Jim Thompson. It is fancier and might allude to something mysterious happening, given the mysterious history of the brand she's wearing. The mystery is the unsolved disappearance of its founder in 1967.

Julieta Maxi Caftan by Lily Pulitzer

Finally, Lily Pulitzer's comment on the post where Belinda wears the Julieta Maxi Caftan by the label has raised some suspicion about her fate. The caftan is a flowy one with floral prints which again, shows her in a vacation mood but the comment by the label makes one wonder if there are any subtle foreshadowing or clues that we are unable to see.

Is Belinda's fate in danger in The White Lotus Season 3?

Viewers are slightly worried about Belinda's fate as characters who return to the show either die or become the cause of death.

Tanya McQuoid played by Jennifer Coolidge and Greg Hunt played by John Gries who were first seen in season 1 of the show, returned in season 2 only for Tanya to be killed and Greg to be the one who planned her murder so he could inherit her fortune. Greg's plan almost failed, but Tanya died accidentally falling into the sea when she was trying to escape.

Foreshadowing through an outfit has occurred before according to the show's costume designer, Alex Bovaird. Bovaird told Page Six that the floral dress Tanya McQuoid wore in the second season finale was earlier shown on the Apollonia mannequin in The Godfather sight-seeing tour in episode 3. Tanya's death was foreshadowed by showing her in the same dress as the Apollonia mannequin because Apollonia, Michael Corleone’s wife was killed by a car bomb intended for her husband in The Godfather.

Since both Tanya and Belinda are characters who have returned to the show, viewers are worried that Belinda might face the same fate as Tanya and it might be foreshadowed through her outfits. Besides, Belinda's son, Zion in the opening scene of The White Lotus Season 3 was seen praying for his mom to be okay after he heard gunshots.

A few seconds later, we are also shown a dead body wearing what closely resembles a wellness center employee's uniform floating in the water. Belinda, after the completion of her wellness program, has joined as staff, and could quite possibly be the one who dies this season.

Who is Belinda Lindsey in The White Lotus Season 3?

Belinda Lindsey was a spa manager in season 1 of The White Lotus. She became a favorite of Tanya McQuoid, who wanted to help her open up her own business. However Tanya soon rejected Belinda's business plan, but left her a large sum of money as a 'goodbye gift'. Belinda was disheartened by Tanya's sudden change of mind and heartbroken by her friend and hotel manager, Armond's death. The money left by Tanya was not enough to start a business, but what Belinda did with that money is unknown.

In The White Lotus Season 3, Belinda Linsey is on a wellness study program in Thailand. She learns the ropes from Pornchai, her mentor and employee at the wellness center, and also has a romantic relationship with him.

In episode 3, Belinda recognizes Gary at the resort who now goes by Greg. When she asks him about Tanya, he acts like he knows nothing and that Belinda must have him confused with someone else. When she googles him later, she learns of Tanya's death and that authorities are looking for Greg (now Gary) in Italy. She decides to stay out of his way and declines his invitation to a dinner at his house. This indicates that Gary (or Greg) will potentially try to hurt Belinda as she has recognized him and can probably tell the authorities.

The White Lotus Season 3 premiered on February 16, 2025, and new episodes drop every Sunday on HBO at 9 pm ET/PT.
