In a recent interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Rafe Judkins, the showrunner of The Wheel of Time, teased that future seasons will introduce Forsaken characters that fans are already familiar with. This builds up the mystery further as it suggests that some characters that are already introduced will later be revealed to be Forsaken.
In the books, each Forsaken has a unique personality and motivation, making them distinct from one another. Judkins aims to bring this complexity to the screen, ensuring that each Forsaken is portrayed as a unique and formidable antagonist.
While specific characters have not been confirmed, the introduction of hidden Forsaken adds an intriguing layer of suspense and mystery to the upcoming season. It is being speculated that the hidden Forasaken could be Demandred. Fans can look forward to uncovering these secrets as the story unfolds.
Here is what Rafe Judkins said about Forsaken in The Wheel of Time
He Who Comes With The Dawn is the season 3 finale that dropped on April 17, 2025. Episode 8 of The Wheel of Time season 3 is the darkest of all the episodes, according to reports, as Moghedien kills Sammael, marking a significant shift in Forsaken dynamics. While Liandrin succumbs to darkness, aligning herself with evil forces, deepening internal conflicts among the Forsaken; Moiraine confronts the Forsaken Lanfear, engaging in a fierce battle that tests her limits.
The situation is worsening for the heroes as well as the forsaken ones. With a lot of Forsaken already appearing in the show, Rafe Judkins, the showrunner, suggested that the future Forsaken might be some familiar faces for the fans, which means that the show has already introduced future Foresaken. Therefore, fans can speculate who among all the characters could later be revealed as a Forsaken.
"We’ve definitely laid the pieces for a few Forsaken to appear in next season, who are new and maybe not so new that you will be excited to see on screen. I think I can say that much," Judkins told The Hollywood Reporter.
"The interplay of the Forsaken is really exciting and interesting in the books, and I think we want to continue that in the show and continue to meet new members of this group."
He further added that people are too excited about the Forsaken and that he would refrain from revealing too much right now. Many reports speculate that it could be Demandred, as he emerged as an important figure in previous episodes of The Wheel of Time.
"Listen...I don't want to give too much away. We're being very thoughtful with the Forsaken, and I think there's something potentially controversial that will happen in Episode 8 that people should keep their eyes peeled for with the Forsaken. I'm interested to see the reaction to it...but you know, we think about the Forsaken a lot."
Forsaken are the ones who were once great Aes Sedai, but joined the Dark One when it tempted them, offering more power and freedom. The Wheel of Time has introduced Forsakens such as Ishamael, Rahvin, Sammael, Lanfear, Moghedien, Graendal, and Semirhage. The book has thirteen Forsaken featured; therefore, what lies ahead in the show is a complete mystery. But indeed, as the showrunner asserted, each Forsaken will be unique and formidable in The Wheel of Time.
