Morgase Trakand and the White Tower Conflict in The Wheel of Time Season 3 Episode 2

The Wheel of Time Season 3 Episode 2 starts with a flashback where Morgase Trakand ascends to the throne of Andor. Following her coronation, she dispatches her enemies to ensure her reign. She arrives at the White Tower with Prince Consort Lord Gabriel and Elaida, who is a Red Ajah Aes Sedai and her counselor, in the present. She comes to bring her daughter, Elayne, home to Andor.

Morgase greets Siuan Sanche and insists on speaking with Elayne. When they sit down, Morgase informs her daughter that she will receive the Great Serpent ring shortly, but then she must go home. Elayne objects, claiming that she has not yet completed her Aes Sedai training.

Morgase is firm in her stance that her obligation to Andor is paramount since the country's politics are of greater concern than the White Tower's power. Meanwhile, Elaida moves in the shadows, gathering data on what's transpired at the White Tower. Tensions build as various factions gear up for what is to come.

Rand, Moiraine, and the journey to the Aiel Waste

Rand, Moiraine, and their party make their way to the Aiel Waste. At a temporary stop, Rand practices with Lan while Moiraine and Egwene talk about their apprehensions. Egwene reassures her that she is present to guard Rand, not dominate him. Moiraine concurs but cautions that Egwene has to be the initial one to realize any perilous alterations in Rand's actions.

Aviendha enters the conversation and rebuts the easy belief that the Dragon Reborn will save or ruin the world. She states that the reality is much more nuanced, and there will be repercussions regardless of the outcome. Rand still has visions of Lanfear. In a dream, she attempts to approach him, but he pushes her away, saying he loves Egwene.

Lanfear tells him that someday Egwene will notice the darkness in him. Egwene has a nightmare in which she is murdered by Lanfear and then finds herself waking up in a desert, where an old woman says she doesn't belong there. Meanwhile, in the real world, the group is being stalked.

The Wheel of Time Season 3 Episode 2 concludes with them being enclosed by figures of mystery, including the same old lady from Egwene's vision. She talks of a prophecy that states the Dragon Reborn will bring them home but with destruction in tow.

Perrin's return to the Two Rivers in The Wheel of Time Season 3 Episode 2 and Siuan's Preparations

In The Wheel of Time Season 3 Episode 2, Perrin ultimately arrives at the Two Rivers only to discover that the White Cloaks have occupied the town. A resident of the town tells him that it is not safe for him and his friends—Loial, Bain, and Chiad—to remain there. She hides them for the night in an attic, but they soon realize that Alanna and Maksim are there as well.

In the meantime, Siuan Sanche at the White Tower feels that war is looming. She calls Elayne and Nynaeve and charges them with getting information on Liandrin and her supporters. But they believe she is withholding something from them.

Elayne then informs Nynaeve that she is departing the following day for Andor, since duty to the Lion Throne takes precedence over training. Nynaeve is angered by this announcement, realizing it will alter their plans.

Siuan also speaks with Mat and cautions him that the Horn of Valere might be unsafe for him. She likens him to a legendary hero who gave up his life to protect others. Mat does not agree with this role, however, and insists that he only does what people expect him to do.
