What to expect from The Wheel of Time Season 3 Episode 1?

With a runtime of 1 hour and 9 minutes, the premiere is the longest episode of the season. In comparison, the second and third episodes are 59 minutes, and 1 hour and 2 minutes long, respectively. The first episode is titled To Race the Shadow and will follow up on the events of the previous season’s finale.

Rand, Moiraine, and their group are trying to figure out a way to defeat the Dark One’s allies. At the same time, Siuan and Liandrin are going to have a confrontation at the White Tower. The official logline for the episode reads:

“In the Season Three premiere of The Wheel of Time, Siuan confronts Liandrin at the White Tower. Meanwhile, Moiraine, Lan, Rand, Mat, Perrin, Egwene, Nynaeve, and Elayne are strategizing their next move as they attempt to stay one step ahead of the Dark One’s allies. Lanfear and the other Forsaken are secretly plotting, while Egwene gains a revealing glimpse into the future.”

What happened in The Wheel of Time Season 2 finale?

In the previous season’s finale, the battle in Falme unfolded with Rand facing both High Lord Turak and Ishamael, ultimately defeating them. As a result, Rand was publicly declared as the Dragon Reborn, fulfilling the prophecy.

Meanwhile, Moiraine reconnected with Lan and proved her strength by destroying the Seanchan fleet, allowing Rand to use his power freely. Mat played a key role by blowing the Horn of Valere, which summoned legendary heroes to help in the fight.

Surprisingly, one of them was Uno Nomesta, showing that fallen warriors could be called back through the Horn. Egwene also had an important moment when she killed Renna, her captor, as an act of defiance.

The episode featured several deaths, including Ingtar, Geofram Bornhald, and Hopper. Perrin avenged Hopper by killing Geofram and created a new rivalry with Dain Bornhald. The finale also introduced a major shift in power as Ishamael released the remaining Forsaken.
