Let’s be real Episode 8 wasn’t just a finale. It was a tidal wave of emotions, jaw-dropping reveals, and brutal heartbreaks all rolled into one. The name itself, He Comes with the Dawn, was poetic enough. But the execution? Next-level. This episode didn’t just tie up loose ends, it redefined them.

We saw Rand finally become the Car’a’carn (the Chosen One for the Aiel), Moiraine face Lanfear in a fierce standoff, and Siuan Sanche meet the cruelest fate imaginable at the White Tower. All this while sinister alliances formed quietly in the shadows. The entire hour was a dance between glory and grief, and it nailed both steps.

Let’s start with the most gut-wrenching part of the episode, Siuan Sanche. What a way to go.

In a series that’s never shied away from showing betrayal and political games, Siuan’s downfall hit different. We open with a flashback from ten years ago, Siuan rising to power, full of hope and determination. Fast forward to now? She’s blind to Elaida’s coup, trapped by the very system she once ruled, and eventually... beheaded. Yeah, beheaded. In cold blood.

Elaida’s manipulation of the White Tower is terrifying, and it makes you question how deeply the rot has spread. Siuan’s unwavering belief in Rand’s role in the Last Battle was her final act of defiance. It wasn’t just noble, it was legendary.

Back in the Aiel Waste, as Moiraine confronts Lanfear, there’s a gut-punch moment where she feels Siuan’s death. That connection between them? It wasn’t just political or strategic, it was deeply personal. Moiraine’s raw grief, followed by her brutal takedown of Lanfear, was hands-down one of the most powerful sequences in the show.

Rand vs. Lanfear

Okay, now onto the juicy stuff, Rand and Lanfear’s dreamworld face-off.

This was long overdue. Lanfear’s obsession with Rand has been creepy levels of intense, and this time, Rand wasn’t having any of it. After being manipulated all season, Rand finally calls her out, banishes her from the dream, and shows us that he’s stepping into his destiny.

His line?

“I see you for what you are.”

Cold. Brutal. And absolutely necessary.

Couladin’s claim to be the Car’a’carn was laughable, right? No powers. No proof. Just bravado.

Rand, on the other hand, literally brings rain to the desert, a biblical-level miracle that makes the Aiel kneel in awe. That moment felt sacred. Not just because of the visuals (which were stunning), but because it confirmed everything the series has been building toward.

Rand al’Thor is now the Dragon Reborn and the Car’a’carn. The leader of men. The bringer of storms.

When Moiraine goes full battle mode, you know it’s serious.

Armed with Sakarnan and a stunning blue ensemble (finally ditching that ugly hat), she and a'Lan team up to take down Lanfear. The sword fight? Gritty. Brutal. Personal. After taking a blade to the gut, Moiraine still finds the strength to rip it out and slice Lanfear’s throat. Talk about sheer willpower.

And of course, Lanfear doesn’t die. She vanishes, licking her wounds, no doubt, ready to strike again later.

Black Ajah moves and Mat's journey

Switching gears to Tanchico, this subplot was wild.

Liandrin and Moghedien are working together now, and the evil energy is off the charts. Meanwhile, Nynaeve and Elayne are caught up in a twisted game of tag, trying to retrieve the damane collar. Nynaeve’s delayed heroics nearly cost her everything, as Liandrin captures her and throws her into the sea.

Nynaeve’s explosive power moment right after being collared? Epic, but 30 seconds too late.

Mat walks into another realm (through a redstone door, classic), makes three wishes, and forgets to specify the terms. Rookie mistake. As a result, he’s nearly hanged, fulfilling Min’s vision. Thank the Light for Min’s violent CPR. Yes, it was messy. Yes, it worked.

Now, Mat has the fox medallion, which is low-key going to be super important going forward. Mark my words.

The finale worked so well because it brought all the major storylines to an exciting climax at the same time. Rand’s rise to power, Moiraine’s emotional breakdown, Siuan’s tragic death, the chaos in Tanchico, and Matt’s strange spiritual journey, all these moments made it feel like the entire season, or even the whole series, had been building up to this point. And the payoff was amazing.

Now, where does this leave us? Elaida has taken control of the White Tower, and the resistance against her is nearly destroyed. Siuan’s death leaves a big hole in the fight for good. Rand is finally ready to lead the Aiel, but now he has enemies hunting him. Lanfear is hurt but still dangerous.

Matt’s powers are changing, and he’s seeing visions from other worlds. Meanwhile, Liandrin and Moghedien are plotting something evil, we just don’t know what yet. And of course, the Last Battle is coming closer. Things are moving fast, and the stakes have never been higher.

The Wheel of Time Season 3 Finale wasn’t just a conclusion. It was an emotional purge. A storm of sorrow, power, betrayal, and rebirth. Rand’s rise gave us hope, but Siuan’s death reminded us what’s at stake. The stage is now set for the final conflict, and we’re not ready.

If Amazon doesn’t announce Season 4 soon, I might just start channeling the One Power out of sheer frustration.
