The Voice Season 27 Episode 6 Recap - Cynthia Erivo joins as advisor as The Battles Premier begins

The Voice Season 27 Episode 6 aired on NBC on March 10, 2025. The episode featured the beginning of The Battles Premiere, and this meant advisors for each team. The coaches called upon industry experts to guide their team into the challenge.

Cynthia Erivo joined Team Bublé as Adam Levine called upon Kate Hudson. Then we saw Coco Jones guiding Team Legend and country group Little Big Town helping Kelsea Ballerini and her team.

Just like there were two advantages given to the coaches during the Blind Auditions, this time, they have been provided with something similar. The first one is a save, which will help them keep someone who is eliminated from their team.

Another one is a steal feature, which will allow the coaches to enlist a battle loser from someone else's team.

The season of The Voice is supposed to feature 5 rounds. The first one was Blind Auditions, which have already concluded, and the second one, the Battles rounds, has started.

The third will be Knockouts, followed by Playoffs and then Live Performance Shows. Adam Levine has only recently joined the Big Red Chairs as a coach after 10 seasons of absence.

As for Coach Michael Bublé, his team was the winner of Season 26. Kelsea Ballerini has joined as a coach for the first time, while John Legend has returned to his coaching duties after a while.

The Voice Season 27 Episode 6 Recap

The first segment featured Adam's team on The Voice episode having a battle. Brutton and Darius were set against each other to sing Creep by Radiohead. Kate and Adam adjusted the song and its chords to accustom the voice ranges of their singers and advised them to be "experimental" with the music.

In the end, Adam decided to keep Britton on the team. Both Kelsea and Michael tried to use their steal feature to have Darius, but Adam was not ready to let him go. He used the save feature to protect his team's singer.

The second performance was by Kelsea Ballerini's team, and she had selected Angie Rey and Tatum Scott. They were asked to sing Girl by Maren Morris. In the end, Kelsea chooses to keep Angie on her team while John Legend decides to steal Tatum from her.

He thinks that her voice is "gentle and really beautiful." He had been wanting to have her on his team since the Blind Auditions and saw potential. However, Tatum stuck with Ballerini because she liked her work.

Later in the episode, we saw various other battles taking place, during which the coaches decided which team member they would like to keep or save or steal. By the end of the episode, we saw John Legend and Adam Levine trying to have Nell Simmons on their team.

This faceoff came after John chose Olivia Kuper Harris over her after their battle on Feel Like Makin' Love by Roberta Flack. Adam tried to argue that John did not value Nell enough and said that he had been ignoring the potential. He said to Nell,

"I think you were overlooked and I don't want that to happen again."

Despite it all, Nell decided to be with John's team in the end and give it a shot for the second time.
