The Voice Season 26 semi-finals brought high stakes and even higher notes as the top eight artists battled it out for a spot in the finale.
The star-studded evening, which aired Monday night, featured not one but two performances from each contestant – a solo number of their choice and a duet featuring none other than Sting himself on bass (talk about pressure!).
Coaches Michael Bublé, Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire, and Gwen Stefani watched as their carefully curated teams took to the stage: Team Snoop's Christina Eagle and Jeremy Beloate, Team Reba's Adam Bohanan and Danny Joseph, Team Gwen's Jan Dan and Sydney Sterlace, and Team Bublé's Shye and Sofronio Vasquez gave it their all.
The eliminations were not revealed in the semi-finals and will only be revealed on Tuesday night by Carson Daly.
The voting window for The Voice will remain open until 7 AM ET Tuesday, with the fate of these talented performers resting in America's hands. Only five would advance to The Voice finale – four through direct votes and one through the nail-biting Instant Save performance featuring the bottom three contestants.
The Voice Season 26 Semi Finals: Performances of the night
Christina Eagle kicked off the solo performances with Shania Twain's Man! I Feel Like a Woman, prompting Reba to declare she "knocked it out of the ball park." Snoop, ever the proud coach, dubbed her "Reba reincarnated" – though we're pretty sure the original Reba was sitting right there, very much alive and kicking!
Jan Dan took on Journey's Open Arms, earning praise from Michael Bublé for his masterful runs, while Adam Bohanan brought some Marvin Gaye realness with What's Going On. Snoop, in particular, was "thoroughly impressed" by Adam's ability to make the classic his own.
Sydney Sterlace, the 16-year-old powerhouse from Team Gwen, tackled Billie Eilish's when the party's over, moving Snoop to tears (yes, again – our favorite rapper has a soft spot!). Meanwhile, Shye aimed high with Brandi Carlile's The Joke, prompting Michael to casually drop her name alongside Celine, Adele, and Barbra – no pressure there!
The evening on The Voice took an interesting turn with the Sting collaborations. Jeremy and Sofronio paired up for Every Breath You Take, while Christina and Danny tackled If You Love Somebody Set Them Free.
Adam and Jan brought their unique flavors to Roxanne, and Shye and Sydney closed out the duets with a haunting rendition of Fields of Gold.
Jeremy Beloate showed his versatility with Tom Jones's I (Who Have Nothing), earning such high praise from Gwen that she declared him "too good to sing songs" – whatever that means! Danny Joseph brought some country soul with Chris Stapleton's I Was Wrong, while Sofronio Vasquez closed the show with Elvis's If I Can Dream, earning a standing ovation from all coaches.
Who was eliminated on last night’s episode of The Voice?
Well, that's the cliffhanger, folks! The results are set to be revealed by Carson Daly on Tuesday night, with four artists advancing through America's votes and one more earning their spot through the Instant Save performance.
Talk about keeping viewers on the edge of their seats! Make sure to tune in tonight to find out which five artists will compete in next week's finale of The Voice, and which three will sadly bid farewell to their Voice journey.
It's worth noting that each coach still has a shot at the finale, though Team Gwen and Team Snoop might be sleeping a little easier tonight given their contestants' stellar performances. But as any The Voice veteran knows, anything can happen when America's votes come into play!
Finalists will be announced once voting closes at 7 AM ET Tuesday.
