The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On kicked off another season on Netflix this Wednesday, December 4. The show follows a unique concept that lets couples enter an experiment where they can issue an "Ultimatum" to their partner to marry or move on. The show also allows the couples to enter into "Speed Dating" and "Trial Marriage" as they discover the "one".

In season 3, six couples joined the hosts, Nick and Vanessa Lachey, to test their bond and find out if they are truly meant to be. The premiere episode revealed the six couples namely: Zaina and J.R, Dave and Vanessa, Mariah and Caleb, Nick and Sandy, Micah and Chanel, Scotty and Aria. The ones who issued the ultimatum to their partners are Zaina, Vanessa, Mariah, Nick, and Scotty.

Episode 1 of The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On started with the hosts briefing the couples about the whole process and understanding the details of their relationship. Soon, the couples spent their last night together before they became exes, and started speed dating. The episode also featured a cocktail party, where all the cast members came together as a group.

The official synopsis of The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On episode 1 reads:

"The couples spend one last night before becoming exes. Everyone gets their flirt on at speed dating, but later, jealously crashes the party."

The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On Season 3 premiere: How things unfolded for the couples as they turned into exes

This Wednesday, fans were treated to another thrilling dating reality TV series by Netflix, as the new season of The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On premiered. The series released its first five episodes, and the bombs were dropped in episode 1, as couples bid each other goodbye to explore if there is anyone better out there.

The exes were allowed to enter into speed dating with the other singles and know if they could form a bond. At this point in the show, there was a clear division; there was a group of singles who wanted a lifetime commitment in the form of marriage and others who wanted to keep on dating without the extra baggage of marriage.

During speed dating, a few singles got along with each other and expressed what their expectations were from their partner. It was weird for the cast to mingle with a new person while their ex was doing the same. However, they all committed to the experiment honestly and tried their best to be in the moment.

A few singles like Zaina-Scotty, Nick-Vanessa, and J.R-Sandy found each other's company intriguing.

Later on, during the cocktail party, the singles tried to take their bond one step up by having intimate conversations and opening up about their insecurities. All the cast members sat down for an interesting game called "Quarters". The game brought fiery revelations in the form of answers while for others it gave them a boost of confidence.

However, the evening also attracted a lot of tension as a few of the exes intervened on the dates and made it awkward. Dave walked into Vanessa who was getting comfortable with Nick, and expressed:

"Do I need to explore a connection with somebody new? Is it really necessary? So I know where I am at. so, I am like, three more weeks? Do I need three more weeks?"

The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On episode 1 ended with Aria crashing Scotty and Zaina's date and confronting him about holding Zaina's hands. This made Scotty frustrated as he was the one who issued the ultimatum and wanted to marry Aria.

Aria told in a confessional:

"I can't get an apology from Scotty ever, and I feel gaslit. I don't care that he wants to marry me. i don't want to talk anymore."

The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On Season 3, episodes 1 to 5 are streaming on Netflix now.
