The Traitors Season 3 Episode 3 Recap: Surprise player, murders, and banishment

The Traitors Season 3 Episode 3 aired on January 9, 2025. It featured yet another surprise in the castle of Alan Cumming with murders and banishments to confuse the Faithfuls.

Throughout the series, we witness Traitors, who are present among the original cast members known as Faithfuls, and murder the rest one by one. It is in an attempt to steal the prize money for themselves. To do so, the Traitors meet every other night to discuss potential murder options among the Faithfuls.

The Faithfuls are also given a chance to eliminate but this comes as a common banishment vote where they cast out the person they think is the Traitor. They sometimes end up banishing Faithfuls as well. If even a single traitor can make it to the end of the competition, they will take all the money raised.

The money is raised via a series of missions the group plays together. It also helps them to bond and judge each other's intentions during the play and make an informed decision during murder or banishment.

This is done through a round table where the players sit down and discuss who they could vote out. Also, the traitors have an opportunity to recruit another traitor from among the Faithfuls when one of them is eliminated.

The Traitors Season 3 Episode 3 - The Murder

This episode took a collective jab at The Real Housewives franchise because both of its alumni were murdered. The first murder came for Dolores Catania. She was a star in Real Housewives of New Jersey.

Danielle and Bob collectively decided to murder her because that would create confusion among the rest of the members. While being executed, she pleaded her case by saying that she could be an easy target for banishment and thus, should stay. This didn't seem to convince the traitors at all.

Then we saw Chanel Ayan. She is from The Real Housewives of Dubai. Getting murdered bummed her out because she wanted to be on the show for longer. She was also not happy with the outfit she wore but that's a story for another day.

The Traitors Season 3 Episode 3 - The Surprise Players

There were three surprise players introduced in The Traitors by Alan Cumming. They all had unique powers as they were protected from banishment and getting murdered and could even shield a player of their choice from getting murdered.

Out of the three, the traitor, joining the castle is Rob Mariano, aka, Boston Rob. Viewers have seen him before at the beginning of the series when Alan asked the player to make a choice.

The contestants can bring Rob into the group by sacrificing one of the players. However, everyone decided that it was a bad idea and didn't go ahead with it.

Later, Alan got three contestants, including Boston Rob, in a cage who would join the show. The other two are Wes Bergmann from The Challenge and Derrick Levasseur from Big Brother.

The Traitors Season 3 Episode 3 -The Banishment

The first player who got banished after the Round Table was Wells Adams. He was faithful but the others did not know about it. This is a new twist introduced to season 3 when a player leaving the show will not have to reveal if they were a faithful or a traitor.

This makes everything extra confusing for the remaining ones. At the end of episode 3, we saw another banishment that came for Tony Vlachos from Survivor.
