The Terror is a supernatural horror series based on Dan Simmon's 2007 novel. It has released two seasons with different sets of characters and each season is inspired by hidden true stories that have missed the radar.
This anthology series deals with supernatural powers, haunting experiences, and psychological horror and is inspired by true events. Season 1, released in 2018, is based on the true story of the lost Franklin expedition during which the British Navy was out on a mission to find the Northwest Passage. It was in 1845 that the Royal Navy was looking for a sea route which would have connected through the Arctic to the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
Season 2, released in 2019 explored the horrors of World War II within the Japanese-American camps in the United States. Both seasons 1 and 2 of The Terror were first premiered on AMC, and then on Amazon Prime Video.
