The Studio on Apple TV+ is back with another chaotic and hilarious episode! While new episodes officially drop on Wednesdays, Apple TV+ has a habit of releasing them a bit earlier, usually on Tuesday nights around 9:00 PM EST. So, if you are eager to know what happens next, watch out for a new episode the night before.

Episode 4 of The Studio is up next. Titled The Missing Reel, it is set to release on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. Based on the madness of Episode 3, we can expect more drama, workplace tension, and ridiculous fun in the next installment.

The official release date for The Studio Episode 4 is Wednesday, April 9, but it will also be available a day earlier on Tuesday, April 8, at 9:00 PM EST. You can only watch it on Apple TV+, so make sure you have an active subscription, as the show does not stream elsewhere.

Episode 3 recap: The chaos before Episode 4

Before we delve into Episode 4, let’s quickly go over the madness that unfolds in Episode 3.

The episode starts with Matt attending a final-cut screening of Alphabet City, a Ron Howard film starring Anthony Mackie and Dave Franco. The movie turns out to be a roller coaster of tones, starting off strongly but dragging on endlessly. Eventually, it becomes painfully dull, leaving Matt and the others desperate to make changes.

Ron Howard is scheduled to drop by at 1:00 PM, and the team needs to tell him that the movie is too long and needs to be edited. The problem? Matt is too scared to be honest. Ron, they say, is a vindictive nightmare, so instead of confronting him, Matt dodges the conversation completely.

Unable to deliver the tough feedback himself, Matt tries to push his colleagues into doing the nasty job. Before they can, Ron takes charge in a marketing meeting and proposes a new poster idea that highlights a motel sequence from the film.

It is here that Ron proves just how ruthless he can be. He humiliates Matt in front of everyone, mocking him relentlessly. At first, Matt just sits there, taking it. But he finally snaps on being pushed too far.

Matt, no longer holding back, tells Ron exactly what he thinks: Alphabet City is boring as hell, and it needs serious edits. Tension explodes into full-blown chaos. Glass shatters, people get pushed and shoved, and things spiral out of control.

In the aftermath, Ron actually apologizes for how he treated Matt. Even more shocking? He admits Matt was right in his suggestion that the particular motel sequence needs to be edited, and agrees to cut it from the movie.

With all the drama in just one episode, what could possibly happen next?

What to expect in Episode 4

Episode 3 ended with a huge conflict and an even bigger realization. Matt might have more influence than he thinks.

Here’s what might be coming next: Matt finally stood up to Ron, so will there be consequences? While Ron admitted he was wrong, that doesn’t mean he’ll forget what happened. He is known for being vindictive, so will he try to get back at Matt?

For once, Matt spoke his mind, and it actually worked. Now that he has seen the power of honesty, will he start being more assertive? Or will he go back to avoiding confrontations?

If there is one thing The Studio does best, it is setting up absolute workplace madness. After that disastrous meeting, tension between the team and Ron might still be high. Will there be more conflicts? Will other team members finally step up? The next episode probably holds the answers.

Every episode has ushered fresh disaster in The Studio so far. Now that the Alphabet City mess is (somewhat) settled, what’s the next disaster waiting to unfold?

With so much drama packed into Episode 3, the upcoming Episode 4 of The Studio promises to be just as wild. Between Matt’s new boldness, Ron’s unpredictable nature, and the ever-present workplace chaos, there is no telling what might happen next.

Make sure to catch Episode 4 on April 9 (or April 8 at 9 PM EST) exclusively on Apple TV+.
