Release and streaming details of The Studio Episode 3
The Studio Episode 3, titled The Note, will be released on Apple TV+ on April 2, 2025. Since the show is an Apple original production, no other streaming option is available yet.
Apple TV offers new users a 7-day free trial, and its individual plan starts at $6.99 monthly. Viewers can also subscribe to Apple One for $14.95 per month, which includes Apple TV+, Apple Music, iCloud+, and Apple Arcade.
According to IMDb, the official synopsis for Episode 3 reads as follows:
Matt feels nervous about giving legendary director Ron Howard a difficult piece of feedback.
After featuring legendary filmmakers such as Martin Scorsese and Nicholas Stoller in the premiere, Academy and Emmy Award-winning director Ron Howard will be featured in The Studio's upcoming episode.
The pilot also established Matt as someone who loves giving feedback and opinions to people, and it would be interesting to see his interaction with a legendary filmmaker as Howard. The comedy series will continue to build on his juxtaposition between professional and creative life.
What happened in The Studio premiere?
The Studio had a double-episode premiere, which kickstarted this cinematic and comedy journey. We are introduced to Rogen's Matt Remick, a studio executive for Continental Studios, a company that was once well known but is lately crumbling.
Matt learns that the studio head, Patti Leigh, has been fired from her position, which gives him the chance to climb the ladder at work. He is soon made the new studio head by the company CEO, Griffin Mill, who is envious of the growing popularity of movies like Barbie.
While Griffin promotes Matt, he states a condition that he would have to oversee a new film. This would involve collaborating with the Kool-Aid brand and making a film based on its mascot. While Matt is bound by financial constraints and his supervisor's orders, he is a true cinephile and wants to make real cinema.
Without his boss' knowledge, he secures a deal with director Martin Scorsese to make a serious movie about the Jonestown massacre. Since doing so would reduce the importance of the Kool-Aid drink, implying it is toxic and bad for health, Matt eventually loses the deal because of his boss.
He continues his strings of mishaps by ruining a whole day's shoot, led by director Sarah Polley, by interrupting with creative inputs. By the end of the premiere episode, he is struggling to find a balance between his professional life and creative pursuits.
