Inspired by the true life of the great Canadian maple syrup heist, Amazon Prime's new 2024 show, The Sticky, released its season 1 finale. It makes the audience spiral on the web of stories portrayed in the series, including whether Ruth completes the Maple Syrup heist and will get away successfully.

It revolves around Ruth, who is a maple syrup farmer and faces the loss of her farm due to government actions. Ruth partners with Mike, a mobster, and Remy, a mild-mannered security guard. The show further follows the three of them who decide to do a daring heist to steal millions of dollars worth of maple syrup.

In season 1, episode 6, which took off exactly from the end of the previous episode, the crime family is on their way to get Ruth, Mike, and Remy. They realized that they needed to pull the heist fast, and they successfully stole around $8 million worth of maple syrup.

Will Ruth, Mike & Remy Get Away With The Heist In The Sticky?

The show ends immediately after we see the trio driving off from the warehouse and celebrating their success afterward, but some loose ends might come back to bite them in season 2. They now have to sell the syrup while Mike's crime family is also chasing them. Moreover, the police might find out that they are also connected with Orval's murder.

Although the show has made changes to the real story of the Canadian heist, it keeps up some key facts. According to the real story, it didn't take much time to catch the culprits, so if The Sticky is true to this aspect of the story, then Ruth, Mike, and Remy won't have long before they get caught. This can be a major storyline for Season 2, The Sticky.

Major plot point that will potentially impact Ruth's fate in Season 2, The Sticky

The Season 1 finale of The Sticky has a post-credit scene that shows Beau survived her fall in episode 5. In the scene, Beau is angry, and we might see her come back in season 2 with a motive to take revenge. She might be one of the main antagonists in the next set of episodes.

Coming to the murder of Orval, who is Remy's friend, is a major plot point of the story. This might give the police something substantial to trail the main characters. Mike is the one who murdered Orval; he did that wearing Remy's gloves and left a piece of it unintentionally in the crime scene.

In the season finale, police confront Remy's father with the hope of getting closer to the culprit, but the father takes the blame on himself and agrees to murder to save his son.

Another major plot point is Leonard, whose corruption is now known to the syrup organization. Ruth and the team took the syrup from under his nose and also set the warehouse on fire. This has left Leonard determined to get revenge. He could be the one who tells the police the truth about Ruth, posing new challenges for the main characters.

It would be adventurous and worth watching how Ruth and the team dodge these obstacles, or if they can. Whatever the case for the viewers, The Sticky will only bring more drama and action to their lives.
