The Rookie Season 7 Episode 8 recap: Glasser finally gets arrested

Nyla has been after Liam Glasser, a suspected serial killer, for a long time now and refuses to give up on him. Even after the official surveillance is stopped, she keeps watching him on her own. When a wildfire breaks out, she gets the chance to search Glasser’s home while his family evacuates the place.

While Nyla does not find any proof against the man, his actions seem suspicious. At the shelter, Glasser tricks his wife and escapes in a hidden van, taking a homeless man as his next victim. His wife believes he is innocent until their son accidentally reveals that Glasser told him to lie to the police.

When she realizes the truth about her husband, she decides to help the police and tells Nyla about an abandoned house where he might be hiding. Nyla, Angela, Nolan, and Miles rush to the house, but the heavy smoke from the fire makes it hard to communicate.

They find the victim handcuffed and drugged inside. Nolan runs into Glasser, and the two get into an intense fight. Glasser nearly escapes, but Nyla and Angela arrive just in time to stop him. They arrest him, after which Nyla, exhausted from the case, decides to take a break.

The Rookie Season 7 Episode 8 recap: Seth’s lie almost gets Tim and Lucy killed

Tim and Lucy end up in serious danger because of Seth’s mistake in The Rookie Season 7 Episode 8. He was supposed to report that a certain road was blocked due to the fire, but he did not. When Tim and Lucy drive down the road, their car gets stuck amid the flames.

With no way out, they have to leave their car and hide under a blanket. Believing they might not make it, they admit that they still have feelings for each other. Thankfully, they are rescued in time and later recover at a hospital.

Meanwhile, instead of telling the truth, Seth tries to cover up what he did by getting rid of the evidence. He later visits Tim and Lucy at the hospital where he tells them a fake story about how the National Weather Service failed to update the team about the wildfire. However, the two officers realize that he is lying and can not be trusted.

Amid the wildfire, James helps people at the community center who had to leave their homes. Meanwhile, a woman named Kylie comes there to volunteer. When a man starts bothering her, James, Nolan, and Miles step in to stop him. Later, Kylie kisses James out of nowhere, while the officer pulls her away and tells her he has a wife.

Meanwhile, Kylie has seen something she was not supposed to, as she witnessed a crime involving a biker gang. The gang wants to silence her and the man who had bothered her earlier happens to be a gang member.

He then shows up again at the shelter with a gun and starts shooting, hitting both Kylie and James. The officer then falls to the ground, bleeding profusely. James’ fate hangs in the balance for now, which will likely be addressed in the next episode.
