Looks like the show will celebrate an early Valentine's Day with Episode 6, which will see new paths for many relationships, as the synopsis suggests.
Problems in Nolan and Bailey's marriage are bound to happen after the path she took to end their problem with Jason, which Nolan is unaware of.
In addition, Lucy's rookie Seth's habit of constantly lying about minute details of his life was uncovered in Episode 5. This puts Lucy in a difficult spot, where it would be difficult for her to trust him. Episode 6 is bound to cover more of this storyline.
What happened in The Rookie Season 7 Episode 5?
The Rookie Season 7 finally closed an important storyline, of Bailey's ex-husband, Jason. The show set up this storyline as Season 6's cliffhanger, revealing that Oscar and Jason had escaped prison and hinting that the latter would come for Nolan and Bailey.
In Episode 5, she is approached by a hitman, El Malvado, hired by Jason's enemies, and she agrees to help him. She knew Jason would not stop coming after her, and this got him killed at the hands of El Malvado.
While Nolan wanted to choose justice and catch Jason again, Bailey was keen on taking any step forward to get rid of him. Jason's relentless stalking and Nolan's insecurity were proving a problem for her, and she finally acted on it.
Elsewhere, Nyla is still working on the serial killer case with her team when she finds a new suspect. After chasing leads all along, Nyla's gut pointed her toward Liam, a vending machine supplier for the hospital to which this case was related.
While she could not gather any evidence against him, she warned him in The Rookie Episode 5 that her team would come after him soon.
