The Rookie Season 7 Episode 13 recap: Who is defaming Nolan?

The Rookie Season 7 Episode 13 titled Three Billboards opens with somebody defaming and targeting the LAPD, by putting up billboards all over LA.

Billboards surface all around the area, on buses and walls, especially targeting John Nolan and defaming him as a cop, which deeply upsets him, and also negatively affects his chances of adopting a baby with Bailey.

In thee end, Wesley is able to track who gave out the ad for the billboards, and it turns out it was the creepy serial killer Liam Glasser, who was trying to defame Nolan and the LAPD to help his upcoming trail.

The Rookie Season 7 Episode 13 recap: Nolan is defamed as a bad cop

The Rookie Season 7 Episode 13 opens up with John Nolan discovering that somebody has put up billboards about him all over LA. The billboards say, "Is John Nolan a Dirty Cop?", questioning his integrity as a cop.

While his friends dismiss it as a fun prank, they get more serious with time, with images of Nyla and Angela even popping up on them, and the LAPD concludes that somebody is trying to defame the police, which is later revealed to be Liam Glasser, the serial killer.

While Wes finds out the actual culprit, the billboards negatively affect Nolan and Bailey's efforts to become parents through adoption. Their social worker hears about the billboards and tells them that both of their dangerous jobs will work against them and they will never be cleared for adoption, which upsets the couple.

The Rookie Season 7 Episode 13 recap: Lucy and Nolan witness a murder

Elsewhere in The Rookie Season 7 Episode 13, Nolan and Lucy witness a murder when they stop a speeding car. As they were about to stop, a motorcycle ran past them and threw a grenade in the car, killing its driver, Vitto Nash. Vitto was a criminal involved in armed robberies who had just moved to LA from Las Vegas.

Nolan was able to identify the motorcycle and the man riding it, who was later recognised as Mack Wheeler. Mack was one of Vitto's accomplices in Vegas, and the cops concluded that he killed Vitto so that he would not turn them in to the police.

While on a solo patrol, Celina spots Mack's motorcycle in front of a house and finds his wife Sadie, tortured and unconscious inside. After calling for backup, Celina and Sadie barely escape another grenade thrown by Mack, after which his wife reveals that Mack is planning a big robbery in a footballer's house.

The Rookie Season 7 Episode 13 recap: Miles, Lucy and Celina save the day

Miles meets his old college friend AJ Knox, who invites him to a house party. As it turns out, AJ is the footballer Mack is planning to rob, and he is an accomplice of AJ's best friend, Sean. Miles suspects Sean is stealing from AJ, but the latter denies his accusations.

Soon, Sean's friends take over, but thankfully, Lucy and Celina are also on the scene, and the trio is able to save AJ and his belongings. Mack and Sean are arrested.

Lucy also meets her old friend Rachel at the party. Rachel reveals how she was depressed after her father died a few months earlier. Lucy re-connects with Rachel and consoles her in her time of need.
