What happened in the previous episode of The Rookie?
The Rookie Season 7 Episode 10, titled 'The Kiss,' followed up on the shooting of the previous episode. James was rushed to the hospital after getting shot multiple times. At the hospital, doctors worked to save James, and Nyla rushed to be with him. Meanwhile, Celina told the rest of the team that his condition was serious.
Nolan felt guilty because he had seen James and Kylie kissing, but he did not tell Nyla right away. At the same time, Lopez tried to figure out who the shooter was. During the investigation, it was revealed that the shooter, Lowe, was in a gang Nyla had arrested before, making her a suspect.
She agreed to let the police search her home and finances. Meanwhile, the team found out Kylie may have witnessed a gang murder, which could explain the attack. Lowe escaped but was later betrayed by his gang and arrested.
In the end, James woke up and told Nyla he had always been faithful to her as he was kissed forcefully by Kylie. Nolan also admitted he saw the kiss, but Nyla already knew about it.
