The Pitt Season finale finally aired on April 10, 2025, and it has been one hell of an ER shift. Max's The Pitt featured the day shift of the Emergency Room doctors of Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital, which started at 7 in the morning. The first season of the show was 15 episodes long, with each episode covering one hour of the teaching hospital's day shift. However, the shift was extended past the usual hours due to a mass shootout at a local music festival.
The medical drama created by the ER alum, R. Scott Gemmill, slowly grew into a fan-favorite throughout the 15 episodes. In the first season, doctors, residents, nurses, interns, and med students are all being led by Dr. Michael Robby Robinavitch, the attending physician in charge, through medical emergencies from a series of overdoses and drowning to a mass shootout.
Here's how all of the Emergency Room doctors end up in the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital after The Pitt Season finale.
All the ER doctors and where they end up after The Pitt Season finale
The first season of The Pitt is set on the fifth anniversary of the death of Dr. Robby's mentor, Dr. Adamson, due to COVID-19 complications. In the midst of flashbacks from the traumatic experience of letting his mentor die to save a younger patient who was in dire need of resources, Dr. Robby oversees the doctors through a harrowing shift at the Emergency Room. Here's where all the doctors ended up after The Pitt season finale.
Dr. Robby

It's safe to say that this ER shift was quite a difficult one for Dr. Robby, to put it mildly. He was struggling with some serious post-traumatic stress in the form of flashbacks of 5 years earlier when he had to make the decision to let his mentor, who was struggling with COVID-19 complications, go and use those resources to save a young patient. In the present, he is overseeing a very hectic ER shift, and despite putting in all of his efforts, he is unable to save Leah's life, his pseudo-stepson Jake's girlfriend. Jake even goes on to blame Robby for the death of his girlfriend, making the already long night even longer.
Robby pulls himself together and ends The Pitt Season finale shift on the ledge of the hospital's roof, ironically the same place where he relieved Dr. Abbott from the night shift that morning. Dr. Abbott ends up checking in on Robbie, knowing that he needed some friendly company at that time, and the two friends leave for a beer.
Langdon

After having stolen narcotics from the hospital, Langdon tries to plead with Robby for a second chance to redeem himself. Robby tells him that he needs to go through the official way of reinstation, which is a 30-day treatment program, random drug tests for a year, and a 5-year NA program. Langdon refuses to accept this and gets into an argument with Robbie, even landing a low blow by bringing up Robbie's mid-day breakdown.
Langdon and Robbie do not end The Pitt Season finale on a good note, so it will be interesting to see what their relationship dynamic looks like in Season 2.
Dana

Head nurse Dana has one of the toughest days in The Pitt after she gets violently hurt by a disgruntled patient and has to deal with the bloodbath that the mass shooting was for the hospital. It's safe to assume that Dana's decision to quit the hospital after The Pitt Season finale was understandable after the day she had, and she was seen packing up her pictures from her desk, signaling that this decision was not taken lightly. The hospital cannot seem to run smoothly without the presence of the head nurse, so it will be interesting to see how this pans out for Dana and the hospital in Season 2.
Mohan

This third-year resident was seen continuously taking up responsibilities and getting things done during the chaos of the music festival bloodbath, but viewers found her breaking down in the bathroom in The Pitt season finale. She struggles to keep up with the chaos in the hospital, and it will be interesting to see how this plays out in the second season of the show.
McKay

McKay is barely saved by Dr. Robby from a problematic situation after she disables her ankle monitor amidst the mayhem of the mass shootout at the music festival. However, her talking to the 'incel' kid regarding his list of girls at school, he'd eliminate, she gets to end her shift feeling pretty good about herself as the kid is seen taking a psych evaluation. Her character has a great journey throughout the 15 episodes and The Pitt Season finale, so it will be interesting to see where she ends up in Season 2.
Santos

Santos has an interesting character; she appears hard and unsentimental from the outside but goes on to offer Whitaker her spare room when she finds him sleeping in a spare room in the hospital. She's even seen comforting a young patient after their failed suicide attempt. Her character has slowly grown out into a favorite for viewers of the show, so they're looking forward to her return after The Pitt Season finale in a second season.
These were a few of the major characters in a group of brilliant doctors and nurses who are responsible for the smooth running of the Emergency Department of the hospital. Fans of the show are glad that the doctors of the Pittsburgh Medical have a chance to slow down, but they also cannot wait to meet the Emergency Room team again soon.
