What happened in The Pitt Season 1 Episode 9?

The previous episode followed up on Amber’s tragic case, as the ER team could not save her after she drowned. The doctors and nurses felt terrible about their failure to revive the child. Dr. Robby then had to address them and shared a painful memory of losing a young patient early in his career.

The moment was interrupted by chaos in the waiting room. Two mothers, arguing over masks, started fighting. The anti-mask mother hit the other so hard that a tooth got stuck in her knuckle. Nurse Dana Evans quickly stepped in and calmed the situation.

Meanwhile, Dr. Langdon started losing control. When a young woman overdosed at PittFest. Dr. Santos suggested treating her with saline instead of medication, which turned out to be the right call. But Langdon was furious that he was not called sooner and lashed out.

Later, Dr. Robby reminded him that yelling at colleagues was not an effective way to train them. On the other hand, Whitaker took an important step forward by joining the street team.

He was inspired after meeting a homeless patient with mental illness who needed better care. At the end of the episode, an exhausted Dana took a break outside. However, she was suddenly punched by an angry patient who was tired of waiting.
