Netflix's The Night Agent Season 2 is finally streaming, and Peter, the former night operator at the White House, is back with another mission in the sophomore season.

Season 2 takes Peter to New York, where he is tasked with tracking down stolen US intel and stopping a catastrophic destruction from a lethal gas KX.

The Bala family is the primary antagonist in Season 2, which includes many cast additions in the new season. The head of the family is Dikran Tulaine's Viktor Bala, a convicted war criminal in The Hague.

He is adamant about taking revenge from the US for their betrayal, and he employs his son, Rob Heaps' Tómas Bala, and his nephew for the same.

But throughout The Night Agent Season 2, Tómas Bala has a different accent (British) than the rest of his family because he attended school in the UK. His accent is used as a character trait to separate him from his family's motive.

More on Tómas Bala's accent in The Night Agent Season 2 in our story.

Tómas Bala is the son of Viktor Bala who is the primary antagonist in The Night Agent Season 2

Viktor Bala is the primary antagonist of The Night Agent Season 2, who was once the ruthless dictator of his own country. He was convicted for his crimes and was sent to a prison in The Hague as a war criminal.

It is revealed that in the past, Viktor used the poisonous gas chemical KX on his own country's people, which was secretly supplied to him by the US.

But after Viktor was convicted of this crime and sent to prison, the US cleaned all its tracks and separated itself from Viktor's crimes, due to which he is after them and wants to blow up the UN representatives for betraying him.

He plans to take revenge on them for destroying his empire and employs his son Tomas and nephew Markus for the same. However, throughout The Night Agent Season 2, Tomas Bala has a different accent from the rest of his family and also seems distant and different from them.

Unlike the rest of the Bala family, Tomas speaks in a British accent because he attended school in the UK and was away from his home country for most of his initial life.

Tómas Bala's British accent separates him from his family in The Night Agent Season 2

In The Night Agent Season 2 Episode 6, Tomas goes to meet his father in The Hague, and it is hinted that Viktor doesn't think much of his son and prefers his nephew Markus over him.

Viktor reminds Tomas when he was a child, he hated hunting, an activity associated with manliness. He hints that he is weak and feminine, unlike his cousin Markus, who is as committed to his uncle's mission as much as him.

This conversation hints that Tomas is different from the rest of his family, and his accent is used to alienate him from the Bala family and his mission. His British accent is a reminder that he is not one of them, and he agrees to be involved in Viktor's plan just to prove himself to his father.

But in the finale of The Night Agent Season 2, while he is leading Viktor's mission of placing KX's canisters in the UN, he goes back on his promise and is met with an untimely death at the hands of Markus.

When Markus thinks that Tomas is jeopardizing their mission, he shoots him, proving that he is a better fit into the Bala family than Tomas.
