Netflix’s The Night Agent Season 2 introduces Javad to the story. As Peter Sutherland attempts to thwart a nuclear attack, he comes across various characters who either support him or pose a dangerous threat to him.

Javad, played by Keon Alexander, starts as a love interest for Noor. The counterintelligence officer serves as security head at the Iranian Mission in New York. However, as the season progresses, his true colors come out, and he turns out to be a villain.

As Noor is working with the FBI, Javad sees it as a threat to his own country and becomes increasingly aggressive. By the end of The Night Agent Season 2, Javad is forced to leave his position after being betrayed by the Iranian ambassador to the UN.

Javad is taken away by the Iranian ambassador’s security in Netflix’s The Night Agent Season 2

The Night Agent Season 2 focuses on Peter working to stop a terrorist attack at the UN building in New York City. As the agent investigates some leaked documents, he finds out Javad is planning to take down people disloyal to Iran.

Meanwhile, Javad falls for Noor as they spend time together at the Iranian Mission. While he tries to win her over, Noor passes confidential information to the Americans, hoping to get her family asylum in the US.

When Javad gets to know about Noor’s betrayal, he becomes furious and threatens and manipulates her into helping him. However, Noor manages to escape with the help of Peter and others. On the other hand, Javad’s relationship with the Iranian ambassador to the UN, Abbas, begins to fall apart.

Abbas uses Javad’s feelings for Noor against him and accuses him of being disloyal. He even shows security footage of Javad and Noor together and makes it seem like Javad was helping Noor in betraying the mission.

While Javad tries to defend himself, the Ambassador does not believe him. In the ninth episode, Abbas’ men take Javad away, and his storyline in The Night Agent comes to an end.

Why does Abbas betray Javad in The Night Agent?

Abbas once trusted Javad, but he turned against him after realizing how far Javad was willing to go for his mission. Earlier in the season, it is revealed that Abbas’ daughter is on the list of Iranian dissidents. Javad plans to target everyone on the list, which puts Abbas’ daughter in danger.

When Noor warns Abbas about this, he decides to protect his daughter and frames Javad. He even calls in witnesses, including Haleh and Bijan, to back up his claims of Javad being a traitor who helped Noor. While Javad threatens to have Abbas punished, he is powerless and is taken away by Abbas’ security team.

Abbas announces that Javad will be sent back to Iran, where an investigation into his actions will begin. Javad will likely face harsh consequences, but the show does not reveal what exactly is going to happen to him.

On the other hand, Abbas successfully uses Javad as a scapegoat to cover up the mission’s failures and protect himself and his daughter. Hence, Javad becomes a victim of his obsession with taking down dissidents.

Though he remains loyal to his country, his anger gets the best of him and he ends up being betrayed by his own countrymen. Unlike Javad, Noor gets a happy ending. She is reunited with her mother and granted asylum in the US at the end of The Night Agent Season 2.

The Night Agent seasons 1 and 2 are streaming on Netflix.
