The fast-paced thriller series takes the viewers across various places as Peter races against time to protect innocent civilians. The different locations featured in the show add to the intrigue and thrill.
While the first season was filmed in British Columbia, the production team chose a different set of places to shoot the second installment. Here is all you need to know about The Night Agent Season 2 filming locations.
The Night Agent Season 2 filming locations
The Night Agent Season 2 was filmed at the following locations:
1) New York City, New York
A major portion of the season was shot in New York City, New York. Since the narrative mostly revolves around a chemical attack on NYC, the series was shot on-location across various parts of the city.
The Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza, a public park in Manhattan, was particularly utilized as a filming location. Spread across an area of 1.59 acres, the park was opened to the public in 1948. In the show, Dag Hammaskjöld Plaza is the place where a rally is organized.
The North 5th Street Pier and Park can also be seen in the show. Located in Brooklyn, the park is famous for providing stunning views of NYC’s skyline across the East River. In his official statement to Tudum, series creator Shawn Ryan said filming in NYC made the show’s scope bigger in the second season.
2) Bangkok, Thailand
Several sequences of The Night Agent Season 2 were filmed in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. The initial part of the season’s storyline is set in Thailand, so the production team chose to shoot on-location in the country.
The creators wanted to keep Peter in an unfamiliar place that does not feel like home to the agent, so they show him working in Thailand in the first episode. Several iconic places of Bangkok are seen in the show, including Wat Pho, a 16th-century Buddhist temple.
Another prominent spot of the city that is featured in the series is Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen, a temple known for its 69-metre-tall Buddha statue. Series star Gabriel Basso shared his experience of filming in Bangkok in an official statement to Tudum and revealed the city’s humid weather helped his performance, as it got easier for him to act tired and out of breath.
3) Washington, D.C.
A few scenes of the season were shot in Washington, D.C., the capital of the United States. A large part of the narrative is focused on the government and the FBI. Hence, some iconic government buildings appear in the show, including the United States Capitol, the seat of the Congress.
The Willard InterContinental can also be seen in the show, in one of the shots. As the President goes for a meeting in the first episode, the hotel appears in the background. Situated at Pennsylvania Avenue, the Willard InterContinental is a luxurious and historic hotel that was built in 1816.
