It is time to take a trip down memory lane about the twists and turns of Season 6, which will come in handy ahead of The Neighborhood Season 7.

Calvin Butler's new business and Marty's journey into fatherhood are strong setups for major developments in the new season. The episodes will begin streaming on October 21, 2024.

Here's everything that happened in The Neighborhood Season 6.

The Neighborhood Season 6 recap: Calvin and Marty’s business clash

As The Neighborhood Season 6 began, things started heating up as Calvin Butler (Cedric the Entertainer) exited his existing auto shop and set out to build a new business with his son Marty (Marcel Spears).

Their dad-son partnership challenges were the subject of the first episode, "Welcome to the Foos Box," as their opposing management styles resulted in some humorous yet heartfelt moments.

Marty had a career as an engineer and found himself in disagreement with Calvin about how to run the new business. Headed into Season 7, tensions between Calvin and Marty will flare again, as Calvin continues to be very traditional.

Perhaps the most longed-for narrative arc would be whether they could keep the business up with the father-son bond going.

The Neighborhood Season 6 recap: Marty and Courtney (almost) become parents

One of the main storylines of Season 6 was Marty's romance with Courtney (Skye Townsend). The relationship turned sour in "Welcome to the Awkward Conversations," when it came to light that Courtney was pregnant.

This news brought a wave of uncertainty, especially for Marty, who had just broken off his engagement at the end of the last season. Throughout the season, the subject of impending fatherhood was explored in a funny yet sincere way.

His bond with Courtney became stronger, although it brought several complications as depicted in "Welcome to the Name Drop."

With Marty and Courtney adjusting to their lives as first-time parents, this season of the show is bound to gather more momentum. The Season 6 finale, "Welcome to the World," left viewers on pins and needles as Courtney was in labor during a concert.

Season 7 will follow them into parenthood, and viewers are dying to know how Marty will respond to his new role.

The Neighborhood Season 6 recap: Dave and Calvin’s changing friendship

While The Neighborhood Season 6 was definitely about family, it also dived into the blossoming friendship of Dave (Max Greenfield) and Calvin. As we saw in episodes such as "Welcome to Grandfatherhood," Dave helped Calvin deal with aging as well as with the flux and flow of his life, and Calvin helped Dave to come to terms with relating to his estranged father, Lamar (Kevin Pollak).

It therefore comes as no surprise that one of the lighter elements of the show has been the growth of the dynamic between Dave and Calvin, a bond filled with both laughs and tears. Headed into Season 7, fans can expect more of this budding friendship as the two go into new phases in their lives.

Another major subplot in Season 6 involved Dave's own family dynamics, especially with his son Grover (Hank Greenspan). Season 7 will likely continue exploring how those insights with his father shape his own life as a new parent.
