The epic war drama miniseries The Narrow Road To The Deep North starring Jacob Elordi will premiere on Prime Video on April 18, 2025. The five-part series will revolve around the life of an Australian surgeon, Dorrigo Evans, a reluctant war hero who reminisces about his harsh life as a soldier in World War II and his evocative love affair.
The show is based on the bestseller book written by Richard Flanagan with the same name. The Narrow Road To The Deep North was the sixth book by the renowned Australian author, who also went on to win the 2014 Booker Prize for the same.
The Narrow Road To The Deep North is directed by Justin Kurzel and adapted for the screen by Shaun Grant. The miniseries is produced by Curio Pictures and distributed globally by Sony Pictures Television. Jo Porter and Rachel Gardner from Curio Pictures, and Richard Flanagan, Grant, and Kurzel are executive producers of the show along with Alexandra Taussig serving as producer.
About The Narrow Road To The Deep North
The narrative follows the life of Dorrigo Evans (played by Jacob Elordi and Ciarán Hinds in later years) as he reflects on his past struggles. Dorrigo is an Australian doctor who is ridden with guilt despite being a celebrated war hero. He recalls his experiences as an Australian soldier who joined the fight against the Axis powers in the Second World War. When he becomes a prisoner of war, he is forced to work on the deadly Burma railroads, which resulted in the deaths of several workers. He is also haunted by a whirlwind love affair that he had with his uncle’s wife.

The Cast of The Narrow Road To The Deep North
Jacob Elordi portrays the young Dorrigo Evans, while the older version is played by Belfast and Munich star, Ciarán Hinds. Odessa Young plays the role of Amy Mulvaney, Dorrigo’s lover. The show's cast also includes Olivia DeJonge, Heather Mitchell, Masa Yamaguchi, Thomas Weatherall, and Simon Baker.
