As shown in The Menendez Brothers documentary, Pamela Bozanich is a former prosecutor who led the prosecution against Lyle and Erik Menendez during their 1993 trial. She is facing repercussions for criticizing the supporters of the Menendez brothers and also for letting "TikTok people" know she is "armed".

In September, the Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story hit the airwaves as a Netflix drama where the two brothers were accused of murdering their parents.

However, there is another documentary that features the brothers and their take on what unfolded. The Menendez Brothers was released on Netflix on October 7th, 2024. The show also explained how this particular case changed others, such as Erik's defense lawyer, and Leslie Abramson’s life.

Although Pamela Bozanich, the prosecutor, is barely seen in the series, there was controversy online over some of her scenes in the new documentary.

As seen in The Menendez Brothers, Erik and Lyle Menendez’s testimonies were supported by dozens of relatives and professionals. They all talked about the physical, psychological, and sexual abuse they say they suffered at the hands of their parents.

The first trials ended in hung juries, and when the brothers were re-tried, much of the abuse testimony was discarded with the prosecution accusing the brothers of lying.

However, new evidence of the alleged abuse by Jose Menendez came to light last year. Roy Rossello, the brothers' cousin and former member of boy band sensation Menudo, claims he was raped by Jose in the 1980s.

Since the release of the videos showing the brothers' original testimony, there have been calls for their release from prison. But the question remains: what did Pamela Bozanich do to make her a target?

Bozanich played an important role in these trials. As a deputy district attorney in Los Angeles County at the time, she had prosecuted the case and tried to portray the Menendez brothers as spoiled rich kids who had ruthlessly killed their parents for money.

In The Menendez Brothers, she maintains her opinion, stating:

“That whole defense was fabricated, and it was done artfully, but it was fabricated.”

Additionally, she also commented on the TikTok movement to free the two brothers. She wrote:

“The only reason we’re doing this special is because of the TikTok movement to free the ‘Menendi’, If that’s how we’re gonna try cases now, why don’t we just, like, have a poll?”

She lashed back at the people in support of the brother's writing;

“Your beliefs are not facts. They’re just beliefs. And by the way, all you TikTok people, I’m armed. We got guns all over the house. So don’t mess with me.”

Viewers believe Pamela Bozanich has contradicted her statements

Pamela was the prosecutor during the first trial and believes the Menendez brothers should be convicted of first-degree murder for killing their parents.

However, her recent statements in the documentary have made her come under fire by netizens. The statements she made for the supporters of the TikTok movement did not help, as she believed the brothers were spoilt kids who murdered their parents for money.

As a former prosecutor, after receiving backlash online for her statements, she said she kept guns at her house. The supporters of the free Menendez brothers feel her statement has ironically conflicted with the case for which she fought years back.

A fan tweeted on X, stating the same.

"Pamela Bozanich is a horrible person. She got her 15 minutes of fame on this documentary she didn’t have to do that interview and then to tell Tik Tokers to not come after her and she had guns! DISGUSTING BEHAVIOR!!"

If you're a fan of true crime documentaries, The Menendez Brothers is currently available to stream on Netflix.
