For The Masked Singer Season 12 Finale, The Wasp performed his rendition of Bruno Mars's When I Was Your Man. Panelist Jenny shared that the performance has "pulled on their heartstrings."
The Wasp's second performance was Whitney Houston's I'm Your Baby Tonight. While singing, The Wasp also showed some impressive dance moves, for which Jenny McCarthy referred to the participant as a "true master."
The Wasp also revealed his advice for "young Wasps":
"Wings are your intuition. Trust them. Trust your intuition. Believe in yourself."
Before announcing the winner, panelists guessed, one last time, which were:
- Jenny McCarthy guessed - Jason Derulo,
- Ken guessed - Usher
- Rita and Robin guessed - Mario.
Only the two panelists could guess The Wasp's true identity- Mario Dewar Barrett. He was later announced as the runner-up for the show's 12th season.
Buffalos' identity reveal on The Masked Singer Season 12 finale
Among the two finalists, Buffalos won the reality show, and their identity was revealed to be Boyz II Men, the boyband. It is comprised of Shawn Stockman, Wanya Morris, and Nathan Morris.
Fans must know the bandmates from their noticeable work over the years. It includes their appearances on Barmageddon and Celebrity Wheel of Fortune. In 2023, the group was also part of PBC's annual Fourth of July celebration along with Babyface, Belinda Carlisle, and Chicago.
In his December 18, 2024, interview with TV Insider, Wanya Morris recalled the time when they decided to participate in The Masked Singer Season 12.
"We all had hesitations. In fact, when we found out we were doing it, we actually were like, okay, so they're going to know who we are. So we're going to have to, first of all, change our voices. We're also going to have to pick songs that they wouldn't think that we would sing, and we really don't want to do it. So hopefully they'll find out who and kick us off early."
For the finale performance, Buffalos performed Gotye's Somebody That I Used to Know as the opening performance. The performance impressed Panellist Rita Ora, who shared that it was not an "easy song to sing."
The second performance was Sam Smith's Too Good at Goodbyes, which amazed panelists, including Rita Ora. She mentioned the "harmonies" felt like walking through "the gates of heaven."
The Masked Singer Season 12 Finale ended with the winner reveal, which was "very, very, very close," according to the show host Nick. By being the first group in the show's history, the three Buffalos won the reality show, and their identity was revealed to be Boyz II Men.
