Prime Video has finally released the first three episodes of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2, and fans are sharing positive reviews over the continuation of the fight against the Dark Lord.

While the second season is ongoing, fans and viewers who watched The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 1 must be curious about the whereabouts and fate of Galadriel's husband, Celeborn.

While his wife is Noldor elf, Celeborn is a Sindarin Prince of Doriath who fell in love with Galadriel in the First Age. The fantasy series takes place in the Second Age of Middle-earth, and viewers hoped to see Celeborn in the Prime video series since he had a brief role in the show.

Additionally, Celeborn is a significant character in J.R.R. Tolkien's book, often called Celeborn the Wise and Lord of the Galadhrim. However, he is not mentioned until episode seven, The Eye, in which Galadriel talks to Theo and reveals that she never saw her husband after he participated in a war.

Unlike many elves and other crucial figures in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Celeborn's fate remained uncertain throughout the first season. This was highly unexpected as fans anticipated watching Galadriel and Celeborn together fight against Sauron.

However, Celeborn doesn't appear in the series, and Galadriel mentions to Theo that her husband never returned from a war while talking about her past. While Galadriel believes that Celeborn might have died, there was no confirmation of his end in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 1.

Instead, his absence in the first installment sets the stage for the creators to introduce Celeborn in the second season, which has already begun. It would be interesting to watch Celeborn return to his wife, as their relationship might get complicated if Celeborn learns that his wife was romantically involved with Halbrand, who shockingly turned out to be Sauron in the first season.

There have been speculations about Celeborn appearing in season 2 to help advance the story and face off against the growing darkness.

Celeborn is also known for his royal blood, and his alliance with the elves, dwarves, and humans against the Dark Lord could have played a crucial role in the ongoing season. However, according to the first three episodes, Celeborn's whereabouts in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 remain hidden.

The first three episodes of season 2 focus on the main characters, including Morfydd Clark's Galadriel, Robert Aramayo's Elrond, Charlie Vickers' Sauron, and other significant characters involved in saving Middle-earth from evil's influence.

While many might think the creators should have introduced Celeborn in season 1, it didn't seem important on multiple occasions. This is due to Galadriel's ambition in the first season, as she was thrust into avenging her brother's death.

She spent most of her time finding clues that could lead her to Sauron, and if Celeborn had appeared, their relationship might have looked odd. Galadriel mentioned losing her beloved husband after the war but wholly transformed into a fierce warrior, making her less fond of Celeborn and more focused on eliminating Sauron.

Even in the second season, fans and viewers can see Galadriel and Elrond concerned about Middle-earth and curious about the Dark Lord's next big move against good.
