While his wife is Noldor elf, Celeborn is a Sindarin Prince of Doriath who fell in love with Galadriel in the First Age. The fantasy series takes place in the Second Age of Middle-earth, and viewers hoped to see Celeborn in the Prime video series since he had a brief role in the show.
Additionally, Celeborn is a significant character in J.R.R. Tolkien's book, often called Celeborn the Wise and Lord of the Galadhrim.
