The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is set a thousand years before J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit and introduces the history of the fabled Second Age of Middle-earth.

Each new season brings a lot of excitement for the loyal fans of the series as it presents many unanswered questions from past seasons. With so many plotlines and characters simultaneously, it isn't easy to tie them all together in one season, so the creators extend some important storylines through consecutive seasons.

Although Prime Video has not officially renewed the series for a new season, season 2 has left fans with many unanswered questions from season 1.

While the season did clear some pressing questions from season 1, many plotlines and questions from the previous season remain unanswered. Since there is a lot going on for the show, the creators had to choose which elements to include in the new season.

Here are some unanswered plotlines that were not included in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2, with the hope that the creators of the show will include them in subsequent seasons and clear the mystery surrounding them.

Where were the Three Mystics in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2?

In season 1, we saw the Three mystics following Gandalf, mistaking him for Sauron to serve him as their master. They were later identified as The Nomad (Edith Poor), the Ascetic (Kali Kopae), and the Dweller (Bridie Sisson).

The three Mystics, or the three witches, are capable of strange magic. Although season 2 mentioned their connection with the Dark Wizard, they were not further discussed in the show.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 did not explore Theo's Mark

In season 1, Theo receives a unique mark from a dark hilt connected to Sauron. Since then, there has been a lot of speculation about it, and it was believed that we will learn more about that mark in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2.

The mark also symbolizes Theo's connection with darkness. Although the sudden death of his mother, Bronwyn (Nazanin Boniadi), in season 2 was a good opportunity to explore the plotline of his darkness and his mark, the creators chose not to address it. This is one symbol we hope will gain importance in the subsequent seasons.

Where was Galadriel's husband in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2?

Galadriel's husband, Celeborn, is quite alive when the Fellowship meets Galadriel in Tolkien's books, and there is no mention of him going missing even after a thousand years.

In the show, not only does Galadriel presume him dead, but there is absolutely no mention of him. This might also be to explore the connection between Galadriel and Sauron, but Celeborn and his whereabouts are something the creators of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power should explore in further seasons.
