The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 concluded with one of the major characters bidding farewell to the show. Adar, also called "Lord Father" by the Orcs, was the first Elf in the Second Age to be captured and tortured by Morgoth. He once served Sauron as his lieutenant and later turned against his own master when he discovered his cruel nature.

In the belief that he is free, Adar attempted to create a homeland for the Orcs, using a mysterious hilt and his 'children' to conquer the Southlands and make it Mordor. When rumors of Sauron's return spread, Adar gathered an army of soldiers to battle his former master but was killed by his own 'children', who he believed to be loyal to him.

His children, here the Orcs, turned against him by the end of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2.

Adar steels Nenya, Galadriel's ring, and at the end, it is shown that the ring has healed him and turned him back into an Elf. However, it only works if the ring is in his possession. He returns the ring to Galadriel and asks for help to get his name Adar back in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Powers Season 2.

During The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2, Episode 8, Galadriel disguises herself as one of Adar's Orcs. They bring the Elven warrior to their master, who orders them to leave. Once the Orcs are gone, Adar shows that he's wearing Galadriel's ring, Nenya, which has transformed him back to his original Elven form.

Once he faces Galadriel, it is clear to the viewers that Nenya has changed him. However, after reflecting on his former life and the life he has left behind, Adar detaches from Nenya and gradually becomes himself again. He has no interest in becoming an Elf again. He is only interested in defeating Sauron and living in peace with his Orc followers.

Galadriel goes to Eregion in the hope of reaching a compromise with Adar in Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2. The motive of both Galadriel and Adar is to stop Sauron from spreading darkness across Middle Earth. Their purpose, as stated by two leaders, was that the Elves and the Orcs should unite in the war.

When the war is over, Adar and his children will return to Mordor and never threaten the safety of the people or creatures of Middle Earth. He demonstrates his willingness to unite by returning the ring he had previously stolen to Galadriel and turning it back into an Orc as he has no intention of returning to his original form.

Sauron loses the Nine Rings of Men to Celebrimbor's efforts. However, he does not give up and is determined to get them back. He tortures Celebrimbor in the process. The old Elf, however, has learned his lesson and doesn’t budge. He endures all the torment and dies before revealing Sauron's future, where all his desperation for the Rings will lead him to destruction.

Angered and enraged, Sauron decides to seek the Rings himself.

At the same moment of Celebrimbor's death, the Orcs enter the room, confirming Sauron's identity in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2. Much later, the Orcs find Adar and tell him of Sauron's attack.

When Adar expresses his concern, one of the Orcs pulls out a knife and kills Adar. It seems that the Orcs have changed their allegiance. They have finished their loyalty towards Adar and now serve Lord Sauron.

Much of the actions that took place in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 were what Sauron had planned. Pretending to be Halbrand, he told Adar that Sauron was in Eregion, knowing the Morior Gandor wouldn't rest until he got rid of the threat to his children.

The timing was perfect, Adar and the Orcs attacked, and Sauron exactly felt the hatred that he wanted. So, as soon as the Orc had stridden into Celebrimbor's foundry, he began manipulating him. He knew that he just needed to amass his good relationship with the Orc. From there, it would go without much trouble for the deceiver to be able to make them turn against Adar.

Sauron was present at the scene when the Orcs turned against Adar. He watched his plan unfold perfectly as they turned on their father and attacked him repeatedly. The scene had to be planned by Sauron since that is how Sauron was killed in the First Age as we see in the opening scenes of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2.

Once Adar was officially declared dead, the Orcs declared their allegiance to a thoroughly pleased Sauron. Unluckily for these Mordor monsters, Sauron's mood changed quickly when Galadriel escaped and the Dark Lord immediately vented his frustration out on the Orcs.

Adar had warned the Orcs that Sauron would not care for them the way he did at the beginning of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2. However, it might have been too late for the evil monsters to realize their mistake of killing the only person who cared for them. But fate cannot be turned around.
