The Lincoln Lawyer's third season is back, with Mickey Haller pursuing yet another case. The third season is based on Michael Connelly's fifth installment, The Gods of Guilt, which tells a gripping story of corruption and drug cartels.

Season 3 of The Lincoln Lawyer is a puzzle, with each episode revealing a new piece, deepening the mystery of the case at hand. As we saw in season 2, Mickey was hesitant to take up Julian La Cosse's case, who is accused of murdering his friend and former client Gloria Dayton, aka Glory Days.

Gloria was a sex worker, and Mickey helped her start afresh in life. Since he believes Julian is innocent, he takes up his case. The season finale of The Lincoln Lawyer was packed with many twists and secrets revealed.

Here is a breakdown of major plotlines from The Lincoln Lawyer Season 3 finale.

Since Julian's innocence was known from the beginning of the season, the show's central mystery was the real murderer of Glory Days. While DEA agent James De Marco was revealed to be involved in her murder, it was not clear who had he hired to do this job.

The later episodes of the show reveal that Marco killed Glory Days himself. He killed her because she was summoned to testify that he ordered her to plant the gun in Hector Moya’s home. Glory Day's autopsy further revealed that James probably grabbed her neck, breaking her hyoid bone.

One of the most tragic incidents of the season occurred when Neil Bishop died by suicide on the witness stand. Bishop was under the control of Marco who is a man with no morals. Bishop knew that speaking against Marco on the stand would mean putting him in danger, so he chose to take his own life.

A corrupt DEA lawyer warns Marco after Bishop gets on the stand, and he flees the area. When it seems that Marco would not serve any consequences for his crimes, Hector Moya takes matters into his own hands.

A few months later, Izzy receives an envelope with a photo of Marco hanging with a snake around his neck. It can be deduced that Moya did this to avenge Marco for setting him up.

After Julian's trial, Mickey is depressed and realizes that the legal system is flawed, as it couldn't serve justice to Julian, Eddie, or Glory. While he considers quitting, he is encouraged by Hayley's words and decides to fight for justice.

While it might not be his desired idea of justice, he gets the District Attorney’s office to pay for their corruption and incompetence. He makes them pay Julian for his wrongful imprisonment and even gives Eddie's mother a share of that amount.

To recall one of the scenes from season 3, Mickey publicly warns Sam Scales, a con artist, and his former client, to pay the firm money he owns. It looks like this threat could put Mickey in danger as the final moments of the season reveal officers finding a dead body in Mickey's car, that of Sam Scales.

Season 4 might follow Mickey working on his case after he is charged with the murder of Scales.
