More about The Last of Us Season 2
The post-apocalyptic series is adapted from the popular video game franchise. The new season will pick things up five years after season 1 and is adapted from the video game, The Last Of Us Part II, and will also introduce new characters.
The official synopsis reads:
"Five years after the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie are drawn into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind."
In the finale, Joel saves Ellie from the fireflies who wanted to use her blood to find a cure for the infection, but it would result in taking Ellie’s life. He ended up killing several members of the organization and lied to Ellie that they wouldn’t need her anymore as they found other immune people.
The new season will pick up five years after this event as they try to live peacefully in Jackson, Wyoming. However, as the trailer suggests, Ellie and Joel’s life won’t be peaceful as new challenges and difficulties are coming their way.
The new season will also introduce several new characters, such as Kaitlyn Dever’s Abby, who is on a path to seek revenge. Other than Dever, the post-apocalyptic drama also includes Young Mazino, Danny Ramirez, Isabela Merced, and Ariela Barer, among others.
