In the latest episode of the show, Abby weighed her options as Jackson Hole prepared for a catastrophe in the midst of growing reports of infected.
The Last of Us Season 2 featured two major plotlines set up in last week's premiere. Firstly, Jackson is invaded by a horde of infected, which the town manages to hold off. Secondly, Abby and her crew accomplish the mission they came for: avenging their dead Firefly comrades.
After being saved from a horde of the infected halfway through the episode, Abby convinces Joel and Dina to ride towards the lodge where she and the rest of the former Fireflies are staying. By then, Abby realizes that the man who saved her is the man she is looking for, and thus intentionally leads Joel to a trap. Once inside, they knock Dina unconscious, and Abby starts to attack Joel.
Things play out like they did in the game. Ellie tries to intervene, but she is restrained by two of Abby's team members and watches Joel die at Abby's hands. As that happens, Ellie swears to kill Abby and her crew.
